I had just stopped at Carmine's Italian Restaurant in New York City to pick up some food for our party in Rochester, New York. When I did that, guess who I ran into? My old friend from childhood, Carly Shay and her parents, Sam and Freddie. Carly then handed me a Valentine's Day card, and I handed her one of my Hello Kitty valentines. "I ordered shrimp and vegetable platters, chicken and eggplant parmigiana, a Caesar salad, spaghetti with pomodoro and meatballs, meat lasagna, and a fresh fruit platter for dessert," I told everyone. "We ordered the same thing as you, except for we ordered a mixed green salad and tiramisu for dessert," Carly then replied. Someone was calling me on my cell phone. Of course, it was another one of my childhood friends, Sarah Phillips who lived in downtown Pittsburgh with her 2 male friends, James and Henri. Sarah was helping the boys deliver flower bouquets at a store down in Squirrel Hill. I thought it was very sweet of her to call me, and I told her that Carly was right beside me. I reminded Sarah about our speech when we were all seniors in high school in the marching band. "We should keep our good spirit, even on Valentine's Day, huh?" I asked her. "Of course," she then replied. "Happy Valentine's Day!" "Same to you." I then got my food and headed to the car with everyone else. We then headed back to the Sobert sisters' old house in Rochester, New York. I thought to myself how much I missed seeing Sarah, James, and Henri when I was friends with Carly Shay and her parents.
