The latest edition of Hogwarts: A History was out and guess who managed so get their hands on one of the first copies? Hermione Granger, but of course.

As soon as she had changed into her nightgown, she snuggled under the covers of her bed and started reading.

It was so interesting!

She had written to the committee of authors who wrote each book and expressed her concern regarding the house elves. Chapter 17 of the book was all about the elves at Hogwarts. According to a recent study that they had done, the happiest elves in Britain resided in Hogwarts. Apparently, they were provided with all the possible-

"I don't know how someone can look so sexy while reading."

Hermione looked up and smiled at Draco, whom in turn was gazing at her with lustful eyes. Turning her own eyes back to the page, she realized she's lost track of where she had been on the page.

"Now look what you've made me do!" she exclaimed, eyes skimming through the small print.

"What?"

"I can't find where I left off!"

Smirking his evil little smirk, Draco plucked the book right out of her hands.

"Hey- OW!"

Throwing the book on the nightstand beside them, Draco looked down to see that Hermione's right index finger had gotten a paper cut.

"Can't a girl read in peace and safety? Goodness!" Hermione huffed, left hand wrapped tight around the bleeding finger.

"Aw, Hermione's got a little paper cut," Draco mocked. "Want me to kiss it better?"

She only glared at him.

Heaving a huge sigh, Draco bent down, pulled her finger to his mouth, and pressed a kiss to it. Looking into her eyes, he saw them widen as he pulled the finger into his mouth and started swirling his tongue around it. The metallic taste of blood – mudblood; dirty blood apparently – felt sweet on his tongue but he wasn't able to savour it for long.

"Draco, stop distracting me." She pulled her finger out of his mouth. "I need to read this book by tomorrow. I have to write a review on it for the Daily Prophet and it is due this Friday so-"

"Darling, today is Friday," Draco pointed out. "You have a whole week to do it! Besides, you've already read most of it. How many more chapters have you got left? Five? Six?"

"Seven, actually."

"I was close enough."

Hermione smiled. "Yes you were. Now shoo! I have to rmmff-" she was cut off as he suddenly kissed her.

When felt her wielding, he made even more of an effort to divert her mind from going back to the blasted book, adding in his tongue and hands. When he finally pulled back, she was breathless.

Normally, he would have made some witty remark right about now. Tease her about going back to her book or even starting to write an outline for her review right now, or something of the sort.

Finally, he thought better of it and just kissed her again, her book laying on the nightstand, fortunately forgotten.

It just wasn't worth the risk.
