Kevin's P.O.V
She busily ran around making sure the children were okay.
They was a big blow up pool since the little ones couldn't swim in the lake.
Her red hair got longer it now reached her waist.
How long has it passed since I'd seen her.
"Kenneth get back here."
She started to chase after Ben's son.
He bumped into his mother's leg.
"Don't give your aunty such a hard time Kenny."
"It's ok Julie you shouldn't strain yourself so much."
Julie handed Kenny to Gwen.
"Just because I'm pregnant doesn't mean you can baby me."
Gwen smiled and laughed.
"I'm not just concerned about your back is all."
She placed Kenny on the ground.
"Go back and play with your friends."
"Ok aunty."
He giggled and ran into the pool.
"He's so cute."
Julie and headed to her husband.
"I know."
She stretched and headed over to the water cooler which was next to me.
"Hey Kevin I didn't know you were coming here."
She opened the bottle of water and drank it.
"Yeah, I just got here Ben invited me."
She sat next to me.
"Oh that's nice of him."
I stared out at the lake.
"I didn't know Ben had it in him."
"Huh."
"To have Julie pregnant again."
She blushed and turned her head away.
"So what if they settled down and started a family."
"Yeah I wonder why we didn't."
She glared at me.
"That's because you said you weren't ready for commitment."
"So we were just teenagers."
"So was Ben and Julie."
Gwen P.O.V
He looked as if he was about to speak but I cut him off.
"Don't worry about it I'm over it."
I got up and threw the bottle away.
"Anyway I didn't come here to fight so let's be on good behavior."
I smiled at him and walked away.
"Later Kevin."
I walked over to the lake and dove in.
Sometime he can just be so hard headed.
Several hours later…..
I smiled a little as held Kenny.
"Uncle Levin."
He glared at Ben.
"What he heard me said it."
Me and Julie laughed.
"Alright kiddos it's time for the fireworks display."
Kevin handed Kenny back to his father and walked over to me.
"Don't worry not here to argue I didn't want to spoil the family moment over there."
He pointed over at Ben.
Kenneth was on his dad necks and Ben had his hand on Julie's stomach.
"They are so cute."
"I know."
He stared up into the sky.
Kevin's P.O.V
I took a peek at her.
Her gorgeous emerald eyes surround by her fiery hair.
It flowed with the breeze.
I looked back at the sky when she noticed my gaze.
"Look Gwen I wanted to know if we could like you know."
I was nervous and my words all jumbled up.
"Try what Kevin."
She smiled knowingly.
"You know what I'm trying to say."
She nodded.
"You don't have to force yourself."
"Let's just take things slowly."
"Okay."
I leaned and placed a chaste kiss on her lips.
She smiled and leaned her head on my shoulder.
Who knew meeting again at a picnic would bring us together.
*pop*
The dark sky was illuminated with colors and noise.
"Happy 4th of July."
We laughed when we notice we said it at the same time.
I hugged her and we walked back to the family with our hands joined.
Gwen's P.O.V
We got suspicious looks from Julie and Ben but we ignored it.
I was just happy that we were together again.
And hoping this relationship will last and grow.
Maybe even start a family.
I wasn't going to mention this to Kevin yet.
Cause we both decided to let's take it slow.
