failed expectations
Percy thought they would be pleased.
He was given the position of Junior Assistant to the Minister, and all his family cared about was their own misguided beliefs. They made it clear that they stood against everything he believed in.
He had had enough of that. Families were supposed to support one another, and that was not something he received from them.
So Percy cut his ties with them. He was tired of always being lumped in with them, and having everyone think he agreed with their opinions. He wanted to break free of the bubble they had kept him in for so long.
Percy threw himself into his work at the Ministry, and his loyalty never wavered. Even when it turned out You-Know-Who was back after all, he stuck with it.
But sometimes he wondered.
Percy had noticed that many of the sudden disappearances were tied to the Ministry in some way. And things were becoming less and less like what it was when he first started. He was living in the heart of fear and corruption.
He was beginning to realize what was going on. He knew now that he didn't want this.
But now that Percy had changed his mind, he couldn't do a thing about it.
