Jessie gazed up at her newest owner Andy, who had only had her for about three weeks now. Andy seemed to love her as soon as he saw her (with Bullseye by her side) on his bed, just waiting for him to return from Cowboy Camp. and she had certainly been very welcomed by Woody's friends. There was one friend of his, who Jessie assumed to be his best friend, that really caught her eye. Buzz Lightyear, the space toy who had so sweetly (And so shyly) complimented her on her first day here. Every since, she had spent quite a lot of her free time with him, just talking and hanging around Andy's room together. The chemistry was there and it was a hard to miss. Anybody who watched them together could see it.
Jessie's body stayed limp while her face was frozen as Andy placed her in the toy box gently and shut the lid, causing darkness to surround the cowgirl. The redhead closed her eyes and curled up in the corner of the toy box, pulling her knees to her chest before she wrapped her long arms around them, hugging them to herself. She was terribly afraid of the dark so the nearly pitch black toy box wasn't the best place for her. She barely got any sleep. Only Woody had known that she didn't like the dark, until today. Today, she had finally brought Emily up to Buzz, and had told the space ranger her whole story. She had informed him about how Emily was her whole world, before she had forgotten about her for years and then given her away to a thrift store. She told him that Al had found her and put her into storage, where she was kept for far too many years. The space ranger had comforted her, since the story wasn't exactly a bright topic. He had held her hand and sat on the side of the bed where the light from the window shown the brightest while he had allowed her to rest her head on his shoulder. She fell for him a bit more earlier today, and she easily saw herself falling a little bit more for him every time she was with him.
She let out a low moan when light suddenly hit her closed eyelids and she slowly opened her emerald orbs. She pursed her painted pink lips slightly as she saw her favorite space ranger slip into the toy box quietly, making sure to disturb none of the other sleeping toys. She watched with her already large eyes widened slightly, as Mr. Lightyear sat down beside her and placed his hand on her delicate shoulder in a comforting manner, as he looked into her eyes with his handsome blue gaze. She glanced over his space suit as it glowed brilliantly before she slowly turned her head, looking over the whole toy box, only to see that the space ranger's glow lit up the whole space. Now, with Buzz's presence and his green glow illuminating the toy box, it didn't seem so scary anymore.
A gentle smile touched her lips before she rested her head on Buzz's shoulder, where it fit so wonderfully, and closed her eyes. Her smile only grew as she felt her space ranger slip off her red hat then press a sweet kiss into her crimson hair as he moved his arm around her securely. The cowgirl let out a soft sigh of contentment as she cuddled up to her space man just a little more, more than grateful to have her night light by her side tonight.
