Hey everybody! Here's a short drabble while waiting for Chapter 4 of "Broken Promise"! I kinda got stuck on what's gonna happen in said chapter so I will ask around for help and see what I can do! Anyway, let's get into this...
Darwin was feeling alright today. Except for one single, or two in this case, body parts that he acquired 8 years ago thanks to Gumball: His legs.
They were aching and giving him a hard time. He tried walking once or twice, but all attempt ended with failure. It was the first time his legs caused him this much pain.
"Uh this isn't working. I need help". He said to himself.
He decided to call for his closest companion.
"Gumball! Can you come here for a second?". Darwin called out, and waited.
Not a long while after, Gumball arrived to the bedroom door and entered. First thing he noticed was his brother sitting on the ground, and seemingly struggling.
"Hey Darwin, what's up?". Gumball asked.
"Everything but my legs, that's for sure". Darwin joked, but it was rather monotoned.
"Oh Darwin". Gumball said as he chuckled at the joke, then looked back at Darwin.
"Seriously though, what's wrong with them?". The cat questioned.
"They are aching so bad and I don't know why. It's the first time this ever happened". Darwin explained.
"Okay, let's get you on the bed first". Gumball said as he helped the fish up to his legs, walked the distance between their spot and the bed and got Darwin on the latter object.
"So since when does it hurt?". Gumball asked, sounding like a doctor.
"A few minutes ago". Darwin answered the question.
"And were you doing anything in particular before it happened?". The cat asked again.
"Nothing, really". Darwin replied.
"What about earlier today? Did you do anything?". Gumball asked.
"Well today was gym class, and you were absent so...". Darwin was saying, until he was cut off.
"That must be it". Gumball said, which left Darwin perplexed.
"What do you mean?". The latter asked, confused.
"Gym class is tiring as heck, right?". Gumball started.
"Of course it is". Darwin replied.
"Well, i read that if one trains physically for a fairly long period of time then abruptly stops, it would cause pain in the muscles. I don't know the elaborated and scientific explanation though, but you get the idea". The cat explained.
"Aah, okay then. That would make sense". The fish said, having understood what his brother said.
"Well if that's the case, you should sleep it off tonight and tomorrow, you should be good to go...Literally". Gumball joked. He and Darwin both laughed.
"Okay, you get that rest now, and if you need anything, just say the word. I'll bring you dinner to here when its ready". The cat said as he went in the direction of the door.
"Thanks Gumball. I love you". Darwin said.
"Love you too, buddy". Gumball replied as he exited the room to let his brother rest for a while.
Darwin lied on the bed. He was happy to have such a loving and caring family, especially Gumball.
He then closed his eyes.
"Really, thank you Gumball. I couldn't've wished for a better brother than you...". He said to himself, relived and happy with his life...
And that's gonna end it there! Hope you guys liked it! I apologize if it got a bit cheesy in the end, but hey, anyone has the right to express themselves as much and as many times as they want.
