I wrote this a while ago, when "Turn Left" came out, but i went on vacation and didn't get a chance to post it.

Doctor POVish
"Who was she?" You're curious now. There aren't many people who know that there are other worlds. Who know the future. Who know enough to try to save it. Even if she worked for UNIT she shouldn't be talking like that.
Donna replies with a simple, "I dunno," although she looks like she wishes she could remember.
"What did she look like?" you feel your hearts beating strangely, though the rational part of your brain is telling you that it would be impossible. It couldn't be anyone that you know, let alone her.
"She was…blonde."
And then your hearts stop. You hadn't been expecting it. You'd been wishing, but you'd been wishing for so long that you stopped believing. The memory assaults you now, one of the first ones you have of this body.
"They're cats," she said, staring stupidly at the nurses as they walked by.
"Now, don't stare," you chastise her, "Think what you look like to them, all pink and yellow.
Her beautiful yellow hair. Blowing in the wind on a beach a few miles away, but a thousand universes.
"What was her name?" you manage, but Donna still replies,
"I don't know." You know she isn't trying to be difficult, she told you the story, she told you the woman never told her her name. But you still persist.
"Donna, what was her name?" You need to know – you have to prove to yourself that it isn't her. That is hasn't happened. She isn't back – because she can't be. But you pray to gods you don't even believe in that it is her. That it has happened. That she is back. Because your own promises that 'nothing is impossible' are coming back to haunt you.
"She said…two words."
"What two words, what are they, what did she say," you're struggling not to shout, or push her, or hit her for not knowing, but you need to know. You need Donna to tell you everything because if she doesn't then you might not ever know. This is the worst and best moment of your life. You have hope now, more than you could ever have wanted. Hope: the one emotion that kept you fighting, all throughout the years. Hope that one day, everything will be better. So you have to know what two words she said.
And then Donna says the two words you never thought you'd hear again.
"Bad Wolf."
Donna doesn't know what they mean – how can she? But you do. Panic sets in and you run outside, searching, looking for the tiniest clue. But you don't have to search for long – it's everywhere. How could you have not noticed it before? "Bad Wolf" on the posters, the banners, the TARDIS. And you're almost scared to walk inside. But you do, even though you know what you'll see. And it's there, just like you knew it would.
Red, red everywhere, and you know what that means.
"It's the end of the universe."
And you feel sick, because there's that one part of you that's overflowing with joy. One tiny, cheerful, voice whispering.
"Rose is back."
