Clutching his favorite book in one hand, and the little girl's hand In the other, he heads towards the library, his favorite place in the world. A smile on his face, he drags the little girl along, promising great delights. The younger child eagerly skipped along, happy to be getting such a rare treat as going downtown.
The library was like the boy's home. There was rarely a day where you wouldn't find him at home in the library, reading without a care in the world. It left the librarian wondering if the boy should be his new apprentice. But of course, he couldn't. Not with his reputation. The boy was a troublemaker, always getting into fights, and even pickpocketing here and there. It was why, at the tender age of 13, he still did not have a family. No one wanted a troublemaking kid.
But looking the young man, reading a book to the young girl he had brought in, he could not imagine him as the ruthless brute that people has described him as. The boy had never done him wrong, even helping from time to time. He loved the child, and would gladly adopt him. In fact, he'd been thinking about adopting him for some time now. But of course, there was his reputation to think of. If he were to adopt the child, business would drop dramactically. All he could do was give the boy guidance, and help him on his way there.
And he would stick by the boy, no matter what.
There might be more, depends on the reviews.
