Wow, I'm trying something a little different…I'm now attempting to write poetry! Hope it's alright…

Oh yeah, if you do not know the person who's narrating…well, shame on you. Well, exception to those who just started the game.

Disclaimer: I do not own Tales of Symphonia, or else if I did, this person whom is talking in this story would have stayed throughout the WHOLE game, no matter what route you take.

Ok, I think I said a bit too much…

Why was I here,

this dreadful city?

Filled with pure, white snow

looking so innocent.

I look at it

and that day repeats itself.

"Come along with me," she says.

I'm trudging through the white snow,

saying, "Why, Mommy? Where are we going?"

Suddenly a loud sound,

deafening to my ears still,

breaks the winter silence.

My mother,

the one who hated me,

the one who never loved me…

stood in front of me,

the unloved child,

as a protective shield.

My eyes were in shock;

What had my stubbornness led to?

Her parental instinct?

Her eyes narrowed,

almost squinting,

and her weak body falls upon me.

I finally see-

the pure, white snow

tainted with red blood.

A symbol of my sin.

She glances up at me once more,

her face in a scowl.

She whispered her last words,

"You should have never been born."

She passes on,

laying in my cursed hands,

the stained snow increasing around her and I.

I never really cared for her,

but the feeling of family loss swept over me.

My tears fall down my worthless self,

mixing with the red around me.

Now here I am, twelve years later,

in the same weather

of that fateful day.

My life has been pointless up to now,

living for 22 years as the Chosen.

My memories are dark;

that's why I hate this absence of color and feeling,

this tainted, stained white snow.

A/N: yup, that's it! ok, I won't say who it is, because…well, I made it obvious enough at the end!

Sorry if it doesn't really look like poetry, but that's how some poetry is formatted. I got inspired to write poetry after English class, where we have to write different types of poems right now…Did I overdo the symbols and such?

Another thing: Who said that his mother said "You should have never been born"? I put it in here because I kept hearing it everywhere, and I don't think it's in the game, right? Sorry, if I used that quote from anybody, because I'm a little confused about his past, so I kind of improvised my way…

Sorry, if it didn't really seem like his past or anything, but I just felt like writing it, so thanks for reading!
