A/N: This is my first Firefly fanfic, so please no flames! This takes place before Serenity.

It was just another normal day on Serenity. Simon noticed that River was doing much better, because she didn't have a break down for a few days. She and Kaylee were playing Jacks, and he didn't know what to do.
He was walking down one of the halls, when Zoe stopped him. "Simon." She said, as he stopped walking.
"What is it?" He asked.
"Mal wants to talk with you about something." She said, while starting to walk in a different direction.
"Wants to talk to me about what?" He asked, confused.
"Just follow me." She said, as he rolled his eyes, and followed her.
They got to the kitchen, and everyone was sitting at the table. Mal, Jayne, Shepherd, Wash, and Inara were all there, while Zoe sat down. "Sit down Simon." Mal said.
Simon didn't question him, and sat down in the empty seat. "So you're probably wondering why we asked you to come here." Mal said.
"Yeah. Um what's, what's going on?" He asked, getting slightly uncomfortable.
"We all noticed how you and Kaylee have been acting lately." Jayne said bluntly.
"Well we are um together." Simon said.
"We know." Inara said.
"So what's the problem?" Simon asked.
"We just wanted to tell you something." Zoe said.
"What tell me what?" Simon asked.
"Kaylee's like a kid sister to all of us." Mal started.
"Yes I know." Simon said.
"And we just wanted to make some things clear." Wash said.
"Go on." Simon said.
"Just don't get too friendly with Kaylee." Jayne said.
"Okay, um what does that mean?" Simon asked.
"Now I know it's none of my business what you two do in private, but if you do anything to her that she doesn't like, you will be off this ship. Do I make myself clear?" Mal said seriously.
"Yes you do." Simon said. He was starting to get a little panicked because now everyone was staring at him.
"Since you're an older brother yourself, you should understand what all of this means." The Shepherd said.
"Got it?" Jayne asked.
"Yes, I do think I do." Simon said.
"Alright, let's not torture him too much." Inara said, noticing how Simon was starting to act.
"But I'm serious about you're off this ship if you hurt her in any way." Mal said, as they all started to walk out.
"Wait." Simon said, as he thought of something. They all stopped and looked him. "Does Kaylee have any idea this happened?" He asked.
"No. And we intend to keep it that way." Zoe said as they all left.
Simon stood there shocked for a moment, when Jayne motioned for him to come where he was. Simon was a little hesitant, but went over anyway. "I forgot to mention one more thing." He said a little quietly, so the others couldn't hear him.
Simon said, a little confused now. "Tell me." He said.
"You know how Mal said you're off the ship if you hurt Kaylee." He started.
"Yes I do know." He said, starting to get annoyed.
"Just remember this. If you hurt her, I'll break every bone in your body." Jayne said, and walked away, leaving Simon even more confused then he had ever been in his life.
He started to walk out, and caught up with Inara. "Did that really just happen?" He asked.
"Yup it did!" She said.
