Papa, why do the seasons change?

5 - year old Sakare looked out up the tall oak tree in his front yard. The weather was cool and calm with a low hint of heat to it. He sat on his front porch with his father, Sasuke. A thought ran through his head, why does the seasons change?

"Papa what is the reason for the seasons changing?" Sakare asked his father still looking out at the oak tree.

Sasuke looked down at Sakare then back up at the sky. It was late in the afternoon, summer time.

"The seasons change you ask." Sasuke said not really asking.

"Yep, why does the colors of the sky change, why does the weather change from hot to cold then back to hot again, why do the leaves fall off the trees in the fall and come back in the spring?" Sakare asked now looking at Sasuke .

"Well, it is said that there was a strong demon that lived in the highest part of the land on the tallest mountin, were the sun shins brightest." Sasuke pointed his finger out in front of him, pointing to the tallest mountin in the village.

"What did the demon do to the whether?" Sakare asked .

"He changed the whether with a powerful wave of his bolting spear up toward the heavens, whatever he felt the world felt." Saskue said.

"Wow, what was his name papa!" Sakare asked excitedly.

Sasuke smiled at Sakare. " His name was Motochi Herohichi, a fog demon."

"Fog demon, is that why he rules over the world with his powerful weather powers?" Sakare asked.

" That's right!" Saskue smiled

" When he felt calm and at peace, it was spring time, when he was filled with joy and happiness , it was summer, when he felt cold and alone, it snowed winter, and when he felt like the earth needed a new change, the trees let their leaves fall in the fall." Saskue looked back up at the mountin over looking the village.

" That is why the seasons change, Sakare." Sasuke looked at Sakare again with a bright smile upon his face.

" Wow, I can't wait to tell Hataro tomorrow about the weather! Sakare smiled brightly at his father showing all his white teeth.

"I think that he would love to hear that son." Sasuke smiled at his son.
