I remember the day I met him like it was yesterday...
Sigh I'm going to be late again.
The moment I run into the school the bell for class rings. I quickly dash up the stairs and burst into the classroom.
"I'm here" I yell interrupting Mme. Bustier from whatever she was saying.
She gives me a look and I quietly walk to my desk. Giving Nino a little wave as I pass by his and Nathaniel's desk. I take note that Nathaniel isn't there today, which is strange because he never misses a day of school.
"What was it this time?" Alya asks leaning in and whispering towards me.
"My alarm didn't go off so my mom had to wake me up" I whisper back. Alya nods in understanding.
"As I was saying class, today we are going to be doing something different. In an effort to make sure you all are aware of things going on in the world we are going to be watching the Paris news today." Mme. Bustier says as she brings the projector screen down and pulls up the broadcast. "Now I want everyone to take note of at least one topic that the newscasters talk about."
As soon as the picture shows up, I see Nadja Chamack standing outside a wealthy neighborhood. "Last night there was another robbery in Paris. It was none other than the work of Chat Noir. According to the police he stole some jewelry and all the cash each person had on them. The police are advising people to stay indoors at night since that seems to be when he strikes…"
I pick up my pencil to write this down and not have to do anything for the rest of class, but before I can do it I feel a searing pain on my wrist. I drop my pencil and scream out. It lasts for a few seconds and disappears just as quickly as it came.
By the time I recovered from the incident, I notice how everyone is staring at me.
Mme. Buster stops the news, "Well I've never had this happen to a student in class before, but congratulations Marinette. You now know the names of both your soulmate and enemy."
I look down at my wrist to read the two names, Adrien Agreste and Chat Noir.
I let out a big sigh as I spin around in the chair in my room. I got to go home early because of the whole soulmate/enemy thing and now I have nothing to do. I hear a soft meow from my window and look up to see Tikki, my cat.
"Yeah I'm bored too, girl" I say. She jumps off the window and heads down stairs presumably to the bakery to where she can try and get food from my parents. It might be strange to have a cat in a bakery, but she helps to keep the mice away.
I sigh again and decide to log onto my computer. But before I do I hear a knock on my window. I look up expecting to see some sort of branch hanging from it, but instead I see a pair of bright green eyes looking at me.
They tap at the window again and I am brought out of my shocked stupor and for some reason rush to open the window. As they climb inside I immediately recognize who they are.
"You're Chat Noir" I gasp.
"Yes and you are Marinette Dupain-Cheng, what a pleasure" Chat says trying to grab my hand.
I take a step back away from his reach.
"Why did you move away Purr-incess?" He asks.
"You rob people of their money. You're a criminal, why should I trust you?"
"Because as we both know, it is my name on your wrist and what you don't know is that your name is on mine." He purrs trying to get closer to me.
I throw a pencil at him. "Stay back. And as far as you know I could very well be your enemy and not your soulmate."
He stays quiet after I say that. He turns around to leave out the same way he came, "Au' revoir my princess"
The next day I met him as Adrien and we fell in love until I found out his dark secret. I then became Ladybug to right the wrongs that he did.
