AN: This was inspired by the Joker's scene where all music stops in The Dark Knight and he is hanging out the window of the police cruiser, his face in the wind.

Thank you, Heath Ledger, for bringing to the flesh a truly remarkable villain. Thank you for your talent & sharing your ability to transform a simple movie into a roller coaster of an experience. I was quite simply blown away… You will be missed…

Grip on Chaos

World on fire... World burning... World turning... Burning... turning... yearning... Heehee!!

Gotham was done. Gotham was gone. Gotham would collapse on itself and be reduced to a smoldering, wretched dystopia.

Kill the hope. There is no hope. What a pitiful existence to believe in such a fickle, fickle thing. Hope is nothing but a nuisance to be swatted away like a fly. An annoying, bat-shaped little fly.

Batman was nothing. Dent was nothing. Gordon was nothing. They would soon be swallowed in the pit of despair that Gotham had carved out for itself.

I am an agent of chaos...

It was one constant that no one seemed to fully understand. It was something that no white knight or caped crusader or jaded idealist could ever grasp. Chaos IS order. A man with a plan is nothing... but... but... a man with a grip on chaos has everything. He has everything and nothing at the same time. What a beautiful place to be! What a beautiful, horrible place to be...

I am like a dog chasing cars. I wouldn't know what to do with it if I caught one.

But the dog knows something. The dog knows that chasing cars will make them swerve. And then... boom... Chaos reigns. Destruction... despair... desperation... Who cares about the dog after the firestorm erupts?

What is the world full of but busy little ants? Action... reaction...

World burning... world burning... burn the world... BURN the world...

Money is nothing.

Pain is nothing.

Fear is nothing.

Guilt is nothing.

Anarchy is everything.

Did I ever tell you how I got these scars?

The End
