On my first day of school, I thought that the school I was going in was normal. There were my classmates that seemed excited about me.

They entertained me and helped me in everything.

Then I noticed this girl sitting at the back of the class.

Oh, she was the girl that I just met at the hospital elevator...

She seemed to be lonely. Solitary.

I thought that she was being bullied.

I approached her, but she warned me to never try to get close to her.

But why was that?

Since I talked to her, my classmates prevented me from talking to her and meeting her.

But there wasn't any bad reason to make friends with her, right?

I approached her. She warned me again.

I asked what was her name.

Mei Misaki...

Her crimson eyes were sullen. Why was that?

I asked my classmates about her. However, they weren't telling me much other than that she didn't exist.

What?

She didn't exist? But I saw her with my own two eyes!

They further prevented me from talking to her, but I saw no reason to avoid her.

Then they started telling me some things, and I had been hearing some conversations...

"Kouichi! Don't interact with things that doesn't exist!"

"Twenty-six years ago..."

"Do you think that we should tell him right away?"

"It might be best not to tell him now..."

"I hope it wouldn't start again..."

I didn't have any clue of what was going on. I just didn't get it.

What happened twenty-six years ago?

What should they tell me?

Why not tell me what was going on?

What will start?

And, why were they treating Mei Misaki like she was non-existent? Surely she was human.

They weren't telling me anything. If I ever asked, they would look horrified. Their voices would change. Even their personalities.

Mei Misaki.

Ghostly, pale skin.

Sullen crimson blood eyes.

An eye patch over the left eye...what was under it?

Black hair as dark as a shadow...

Mei Misaki, who was shrouded in an aura of mystery...

Mei Misaki, who was solitary. All alone...

Just...who are you?
