A Special Kind of Thank You
I do not own Avatar, if I did, I think we all know the finale would have been much different
Uh...thought I'd warn this is kinda smutty but not detailed enough to be rated M.
A Special Kind of Thank You
Katara doesn't speak to him as they fly back towards the temple. He doesn't try and speak to her. Aang speaks enough for both of them, babbling excitedly about everything he has done in the time they've been gone. It's a relief when he falls asleep, curled up in one corner of the saddle.
"You have some dirt on your cheek." She points a spot on her chin in example.
"Thanks I'll…."
"No, no, let me do it, it's the least I can do." She smiles at him for the first time, and while her smile has always been beautiful, it's ten times better when it's directed at him. "Thank you for giving me the opportunity to face the man who killed my mother."
He can't respond to her words because a stream of water touches at skin along his jaw. He shivers, but misses the feel when it's pulled away. Katara doesn't discard the water immediately; rather, she moves it lower with a graceful hesitance. It hovers above the front of his pants and he's unsure of what she's doing, but she murmurs something about wanting to thank him and owing him an apology. He pulls pants down and checks to be sure Aang is still asleep.
The water envelops him, and it's cold, delightfully cold. His body shudders and his breath hitches and he wonders why firebenders hate water so much when it can feel this way. With a delicate flick of her bronze wrist she rocks the water, rocks him, moving back and forth and back and forth. It feels so good, and he's so close, so close….so close…. It ends with a burst of pleasure behind his closed eyelids, white hot sparks, and the water comes away clouded and sticky.
They stare at each other for long moments, uncertain and awkward, her liquid-like eyes shining with surprise at her own actions. He offers her a smile, one of reassurance, and she's about to smile back when Aang mumbles something and rolls over. She bends the water into her flask quickly, to hide the evidence and he brings his pants back up and throws an arm over his face; feigning sleep until they arrive back at the air temple.
He's a bit shaky and unsteady when they land, exhausted after the encounter. It isn't the first time he's done anything like that, but it's by far the best. Sokka climbs up Appa to help Aang undo the saddle, and Katara finally smiles at him, beautiful and white. Sokka and Aang are almost done with their job when Sokka calls out.
"Hey Katara" His face is a mask of disgust, he wipes at his mouth with the back of his hand, the other holds Katara's water flask. "Something's wrong with this water."
So...poor Sokka. Let me know what you thought. ;)
