Anakin sat staring into space watching the hovercrafts fly by. Padme lie in bed sleeping, while he sat amongst his own daydreams. He always woke early to watch her sleep. She seemed at peace.
His thoughts drifted to the child she was carrying and how it would effect their lives. What would the Council do if they found out the child was his? Would they expel him? How could they? He was to be an all-powerful Jedi Knight. He was the Chosen One, Obi-Wan told him this all the time. It was hard to imagine the Chosen One being expelled.
Chancellor Palpatine would help him. He was his mentor, his friend. He would show Anakin a way, he had to. He had promised him a way to save her. Ever since he started having that nightmare, Palpatine shyly told him of a way to save her. However, in order to do so, he would have to study the Dark Side. Palpatine had a good point though, to become a rouded leader, he must know all aspects of the Force; including the Dark Side. He would stop her from dying, he had to. It was his only passion.
Anakin loved her more than he loved anything, including himself. He wouldn't allow her to suffer the same fate as his mother. He hadn't been strong enough to save her, but he would save Padme.
She started so stir, and rolled over in bed. Her chocolate brown eyes looked up at him as he looked down at her. "Morning" they whispered to each other.
Anakin leaned in and kissed her. It was just like that first time on Naboo, when he leaned in and stole the kiss that started the whole thing. Every kiss was like the first one, and he took that as a good sign. He was as in love with her as he was when they first met. Never had he experienced this feeling, and he knew he never would again. She was the love of his life, his shining star.
He new he had to learn this power from Palpatine, to save the ones he loved from dying, even if it meant learning the Dark Side.
