Summary: Caroline Forbes can't remember life before the facility; the place she wishes she could leave so much. It was constricting, and it seemed everyone was hiding something. The only chance to escape is the Lottery; the random selection of someone that occurs randomly. When she wins the lottery, she enters a world she was not prepared for; filled with blood, death and despair. AU. Koroline. Others to be determined.
Discalimer: I do not own TVD or any of it's characters.
A/N: The beginning of this is loosely based of The Island. Very loosely. Also please let me know what you think.
~~PROLOGUE~~
Jenna Sommers stared down at the blonde girl lying on the metal table in front of her; Girl #89702f to be exact. The girl appeared to be sleeping peacefully, but that was really just the drugs used to keep her sedated; at least until they had decided what to do with her.
Jenna startled as the door opened and her boss, a Mr Logan Fell, entered the room. "You better have something good for me, Jenna." He snarled, displeasure smeared across his face. "The last 5 I've checked today have all turned out to be a complete waste of time."
"Well sir," Jenna began, nervously. Logan didn't appear to be in a good mood, and she was afraid of how he'd act when like this. She handed him a file that contained all of her data. "Our girl here has exceeded expectations in the majority of areas we have trained her for. She has passed all her academics with flying colours, she has shown good leadership skills, and she appears to have quite an excellent memory. I believe she will make a fine one of us one day."
"That isn't your call to make Jenna," Logan said, as he finished skimming through the file. "We both know how it works."
"Yes, sir. Sorry, sir." Jenna murmured, edging away from him slightly, in case he truly got annoyed. An angry Logan Fell, was something no-one wanted to deal with.
"Well from what I can see, she passes the entry level. Have her sent to the Virginia facility, she should fit in there. And now if you'll excuse me; I have a couple more to check." He said, leaving the room. "You know the rest of the drill"
And then Jenna was left alone with the girl, who was beginning to stir. What happened next, was the easy part. She'd done it plenty of times to know so.
As the girl sat up, blinking, Jenna approached her, and looked her dead in the eye. Her pupils dilated and she spoke the words she'd rehearsed since day one of working here. "You will forget all of your personal memories, remembering only what we've taught you."
"I will forget all of my personal memories,"The girl repeated mechanically. "Remembering only what you've taught me."
"And your new name." Jenna stated, recalling the name she'd decided upon earlier. "Caroline Forbes."
A/N: So what do you think so far? If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask?
