Allen curled up and pressed up against the boy sleeping next to him. His warmth seeped into Allen's body and he automatically felt at ease.
"Lavi? You awake?"
"Ughh," Lavi groaned and rolled over. Allen checked the clock on the table next to the bed.
"It's 11:43 and December 31, so why are we in bed?" Allen asked.
"It was a long day, Allen. Aren't you tired?"
"It's been a long year too, don't you want to see it off?"
Lavi sighed. "Not particularly."
11:47
"C'mon!" Allen sat up. "You don't have any resolutions?" Lavi followed suit.
"Maybe…" he said slyly.
"Don't be such a tease, Lavi. This is a time to start with a clean slate. As exorcists we've chosen a bleak future, so is there anything you'd want to change?"
"What about you?"
"I just thought of it now, but I guess I do."
11:55
"What is it?" Lavi asked.
"I'm not telling, it's personal." Allen crossed his arms.
"Really? You were trying to get me to say my resolution and you won't share?"
11:58
"Okay, fine," Allen said in defeat.
"Spit it out then!"
Allen blushed. "Well, I kind of wanted to get to know you better."
"Me?" Lavi laughed. Allen gave him a death stare.
"So what was your resolution?"
"I hadn't come up with one yet."
"I can't believe you! After that?"
"Hey, hey, don't be angry!"
Lavi pulled Allen next to him and pressed his lips against his. Allen blushed again in shock but didn't resist. Lavi explored every inch of Allen's mouth with his tongue and Allen relaxed. After awhile, Lavi pulled away.
"Happy New Year's, Allen."
