"But why did Peter the Great want to go to war with Turkey?"
Kotori absent-mindedly chewed on the tip of her pen, peeking over her textbook at the two boys sat across from her. Whilst Michael was trying his best to work hard, asking questions, Thomas took it in his own hands to completely sprawl across the couch, resting his head on his brother's lap.
"I don't care," he said, "about some dick who did shit. We all do stuff, so what?"
Michael closed his book and hit his brother's nose, a little less than lightly. "It's interesting, Thomas!"
"Boys!" Kotori had to snap them out of their trance before it blew into a full-frontal argument. She sighed, but smiled, earning a sheepish grin from Michael in return. Thomas, in the meantime, started groaning and rubbing his nose.
He sat up, discontented with his current position, and headed over to Kotori's side of the room. Thomas silently moved the girl's arms and book out of the way, making space for him to lay his head in her lap.
"That's what you get for being mean to me," he huffed at Michael, before turning to bury his face in Kotori's shirt, the girl's face now flushed red.
From the other sofa, Michael's eyebrows turned downwards, sparks of jealousy flashing in his eyes. "Can we just carry on with studying?"
"Right," Kotori nodded, trying to ignore the boy in her lap, "Peter invaded Turkey for access to the Black Sea for more trading," a light giggle, "revenge for the long-lasting rivalry," more laughter, and the girl found it difficult to continue, "Thomas! Stop rubbing your nose against my stomach!"
Always one to obey orders, Thomas lifted Kotori's shirt slightly, pressing his lips to her bare stomach and blowing, causing the girl to burst into a fit of giggles as the raspy noise made Michael's mouth turn up slightly. He soon stood up and made his way over to the girl's sofa, sitting the other side of her and batting Thomas from her lap. The look he gave to his brother warned him of having an unfair advantage. Thomas understood, but didn't want to lose this.
"Kotori," he said once he was upright again, "do you want to play the shoulder game?"
"What?"
"I need to count how many shoulders we have."
He started with his own - one, two - before pressing into the bewildered girl's nearest shoulder, then slinking his arm behind her and resting his hand on the other, pulling her closer to him.
"Four," he laughed, "who knew?"
Michael watched on, slightly offended that his brother would dare to go so far with someone he knew Michael had an interest in. And when Thomas leaned in for a kiss, the pinket couldn't stand to watch. Acting fast, he shuffled forwards, pushing Kotori back lightly and—
Still confused from 'the shoulder game', Kotori could barely compose herself when the two brothers' lips touched. She was almost certain that Thomas knew it was Michael he was kissing, not Kotori, and yet he still put just as much effort into it as if he was kissing the girl, or anyone else. Michael let slip a light moan, and the two pulled away, slightly flustered.
The atmosphere turned heavy as Kotori glanced from one brother to the other, concern showing on her lips. With a quick movement, she laced her fingers in with each brothers' hands, giving them both a bright smile.
"We should carry on studying!"
