AN: I'm sorry you must deal with the crappy "x's" but there was no other way to put in stanzas, since the site doesn't allow for simple enter breaks. Anyway...

I wrote this poem for my creative writing class. It's a lot more angsty than I usually would write, but it just sort of... showed up on the screen before I could think.

This was my rendition of Kratos's inner feelings while standing at Anna's grave. Because in the movies, when people die, it's always raining, like the world is crying, but at Dirk's house, it's always sunny. Kratos doesn't like that. The world is smiling and no one is crying for Anna, not even himself, since he can't cry anymore.

The world is smiling.

How can that be

When you are not here?

x

The yellow sun-

Wretched thing-

Beams through the dense trees,

Awkward light

Pounding onto the ground.

x

Colors swirl around

Like a nightmare

In a child's dreams.

Those flowers that you loved

Parasites

Upon the bed

Where you sleep.

There is no waking

For you.

x

The earth should weep,

I should weep,

But there are no tears for you.

Dry are the plants

And the sky

And my eyes.

Empty are my dreams

Which were once of you.

x

Children play

And the sun,

He scorns.

x

The sticky smell of jasmine

Your final perfume.
