Genesis stood alone in the hallway, his composure breaking with every breath he drew in. His eyes were locked on the body of the man on the table in the operating room, and the window leading to the room was cracked. His right hand hung bleeding at his side. "Goddess…no." He couldn't handle this again. He'd watched too many good SOLDIERS die, and now Angeal? His only love. If he had to watch him die, the Commander knew he too, would die. The despair in the air was volatile, and all Genesis could do was pray to his Goddess. "Please…Don't take him! Not him, not Angeal!" His wolf was too strong to die. He wouldn't leave him! But even as Genesis thought those words, doubt crept into his mind. And he couldn't shake the cold that suddenly flooded his body like someone had poured ice into his very soul. His eyes closed, and he flinched back from the window.

The sound of metal sliding on metal made him look up, and his eyes swept from the window to the man standing in front of him. The man who had always taken care of him and Angeal looked back. Doctor Hollander. A man who Genesis barely acknowledged, let alone respected. Yet in this moment, he felt a strong urge to say something to him, but nothing came out. Mako tinged eyes met the Doctor's, and what Genesis saw there nearly broke him. No! Goddess please! But he already knew what was coming.

"Genesis. …I am sorry, but there's nothing I can do. Angeal is…dead. I am truly sorry my boy."

Genesis merely stood there, his face falling, and hopelessness flooding his eyes. His rock, his wolf, his life, his sky, his Angeal was gone. And he wasn't coming back. Genesis finally reacted, his body moving as fast as possible until he was holding the limp body of his love. He could only stare in shock, before his voice found him and an anguished scream ripped his throat hoarse. The sound slowly died, and silence reigned. Genesis slumped onto the floor, holding onto Angeal like a lifeline. Tears choked his words as he spoke, "My friend….the fates are cruel. ..There are no dreams…no- no honor remains. The arrow has left the bow of the Goddess…."

A/n: Depressing, right? Yeah, this was the product of me, my Genesis muse, and Eminem. This is what happens. Such sadness.

Ah well, he still loves me, right?

...

Right? Anyway, I hope you guys liked this story. If you read it. I'm not expecting much, but hey, an author can dream right?
