CHAPTER I
The wooden door slammed shut behind the disheveled man, as he collapsed against the wall in a small, grungy room. Suddenly the door shook, fighting the force of the spell casted against it. The man waved his wand and screamed "Colloportus!" The door bent slightly, but did not break, with each blast of light fired towards it. With great haste, the man began to write with the quill and parchment he had been carrying.
The door began to bend further and further. Every creak reminded the man that there was no time to waste. Finally, the door cracked horizontally. The man rose and sprinted to the owl's cage on the windowsill. Opening the cage and jamming the parchment in the jet black owl's beak, he tossed the cage out the window just as the door was blasted open. The man reached for his wand and turned to face his foe.
Two cries of "STUPEFY!" rang out through the small room, as streams of red light shot through the air.
After what seemed an eternity, the man slid down the wall, crumpling on the floor, as his confronter ran to the window and cursed as he watched the owl glide away, parchment secure in its beak, as it slowly blended into the night sky.
