Safe and Sound
Disclaimer: Harry Potter does not belong to me, or the title, or some lyrics inside this story. Safe and Sound is a song sung by Taylor Swift with The Civil Wars for the movie Hunger Games. This story is from Daphne Greengrass' point of view, and the "you" inside is Harry Potter. Italic words are the lyrics, modified or not. This is surprisingly in present tense, since the lyrics are in present. My friend said that the lyrics sound a bit force feed so forgive me on that!
I remember tears streaming down your face when I say I'll never let you go. It's true. You are always there for me, so why should I leave you? I love you so, I will never leave you.
I remember you said, "Don't leave me here alone." I promise you. I'll never leave you alone.
The battle is coming. We'll be alright. No matter what, I'll be there for you.
Come morning light, you and I will be safe and sound, in Hogwarts.
The final battle has finally started. You tell me that either you or him will die today. I smile and say that it will be you who win the battle, and end this war. You just frown.
Darling, everything's on fire, everything will be destroyed, and the war outside keeps raging on.
Promise me, you will come back safe and sound. I do not know where you went, but I'm defending Hogwarts for you.
Suddenly, Voldemort announces that he wants you, just you. I know you are going and I cannot stop you. You come and look for me, to say goodbye. The words are stuck inside my throat and I can only watch you go, desperately wanting to chase after you, but know that it will not work.
I can only hope that you will succeed.
But you died. I feel so numb when I see Hagrid carrying your body. It's not true, is it? Why? I feel so hopeless.
Yet, you are not dead, somehow. When you are talking to Voldemort, you look at me and heal my broken heart.
You assure me that this time, you will not lose.
In the end, you keep your promise, and I kept mine.
It's morning, and we'll be alright, as no one can hurt us now.

A/N: A bit too short huh? But I'm feeling a bit lazy, and just want to write something. Plus, I seem to be only able to finish short stories.
