Love Will Always Prevail

By: Lucki

Angel sat- watching clock tick by. It was daylight- and all he think was right now- his beloved- his angel, the of his soul... the only reason for him to be unlive- was missing. She was in the hands of a demon (human or not- anyone who took his blue eyed beauty away was more demon that he or Angelus would ever be) or she had left by herself. Angel sat- grieving over the fact that if it was herself- or demon- he should have been there. Buffy's phone call from a few weeks ago replayed in his mind.

"Hello, this is Angel."

"It's Buffy."

"I know."

"You always do- don't you?"

"What do you mean?"

"Know what's best for me- for everyone."

"Moreso than you. I'm only about 150 years older."

"Actually- really- in all detail- how much older ARE you. Count the days, seconds, minutes, years, milliminutes."

"Buffy- was there a reason you called?"

"Somethings about to happen- fate."

"Buffy- look... I can't see you right now. Call me if you're dying."

The phone hung up- Buffy cried and Angel wondered when he had become a cold hearted SOB...

Little did he know- after he hung up- Buffy was still there.

"It's already life or death- Angel. I love you."

Then 'IT' happened.

Angel's phone started ringing again and he picked it up- the coincedence of his memory and the ringing disturbing.

"Hello?"

"DO YOU LOVE HER?"

"Exuse me?"

"Do. You. Love. Buffy. Summers."

"I-I-"

"Yes or no, Angelus."

"Yes."

"Then go to the Mansion. There you shall find her."

The phone never hit the cradle- Instead was banging of the floor.

Angel- without a moments thought- swung open the door. Only to realize to late that the sun was still there- beating down.

Only- the vampire with a soul didn't turn to a pile of dust... he was still whole.

"Huh?" He asked- sounding like Xander. His eyes opened wider as he saw a sight before him.

Delia was in Xander's arms, Dawn was in Oz's, Willow was is Spike's, and Faith and Anya were looking at eachother as lovers would. Only couples whom were happy stood there... Spike (too) was not dust and he suddenly reconized the voice on the phone. Angelus was a dead give away. Although- he gave him points for not calling him 'the Bloody Poof'.

In the middle of the couples was Elizabeth Anne Summers... Her blonde hair like a halo around her bruised and battered face.

"Buffy?" he asked- his voice choked up. She smiled at him and together- guided by fate- they embraced.

"How did this-" he tried to ask.

"Love- Angel- will always prevail..."

Before he could ask more- Buffy stole his breathe for the first time in decades- with a heart stopping kiss.

And they lived happily ever after... :-D Finally.
