Twilight – More Than You Know

Vampires and wolves aren't the only creatures out there, as Bella quickly finds out

Charlie had told her not to just wander into the woods. Jacob had warned her that, even without the supernatural, the woods were still dangerous. Alice (and the rest of the Cullens) told her that there were way too many variables about what could possibly happen in the woods.

Bella had to snort at all of them as she looked at the infinite vision of trees and continued walking. She was a little human, of course she was, but she was hardly helpless! She was smart, she was strong, she could handle a little walk in the woods! Her dad, friends and boyfriend were being way too stifling, and she was going to prove then wrong!

As she walked into the Reservation wooded area, Bella grinned to herself and marveled at how well things were going. Her coat was thick and warm, her shoes were proper for the terrain, and her compass was in perfect condition on her hand. She was ready for anything the woods were ready to throw at her, and in any case, Alice would be able to see if she did (she had to snort) get into any trouble.

Something made a soft noise somewhere near her, and she turned at once while keeping herself straight. She kept looking, trying to find out what was going on. Maybe an animal? No, but the Cullens told her there were little to no animals around, at least no dangerous animals. Maybe a deer? She'd love to meet a deer!

She smiled as she continued looking into where the noise was coming from, but had to whirl her head around as the same sound seemed to change directions in the blink of an eye. She frowned and wondered if the Cullens were wrong, and there really were dangerous animals in the woods.

Alice, Alice would see this and someone would come and save her. Someone would come, if she was about to be hurt. Edward would–

"Trespasser" – a voice took over the entire forest, and Bella widened her eyes and fell on her ass.

"W–Who is this? Who said that?!" – she demanded to know.

"You are a friend of the Wolves and Eaters"

"T–The Eaters...?"

"Yes, you are" – the voice ignored her – "You are alone" – it whispered in her ear, and Bella started to really panic. Alice better see this, ASAP!

Before the girl could pray for Edward, someone!, to come for her, she yelped when a root grabbed her ankle and she quickly found herself up in the air, several feet up there. She started to hyperventilate and to scream into the nothingness of the Forks' woods.

"Wolves and Eaters don't taste good" – the voice commented over her yells – "We have never had a Friend. Does is taste good?"

"NO!" – Bella shrieked as another root started to embrace her waist, and it began to get difficult to breathe, speak, think.

"Must get it nice and soft" – the voice said, almost teasingly, and Bella could no longer scream as yet another root came and entered her mouth and down her throat and down, down, down–

The last thing Bella ever saw was an enormous mouth appearing in the air, in between the trees, and huge, woody, mossy teeth closing in on her.

And no, I don't particularly like Bella. And yes, the trees are people eaters =D
