Tetra's POV

My eyes fluttered open as I heard familiar footsteps heading in my direction. My lips curved into a smile as I yawned and stretched, then positioned myself on the tree branch I was resting on, making sure to stay hidden behind the leaves as my target approached.

Smirking as I saw my target appearing below me, I pushed off the branch and swung upside in front of him, causing a surprised expression to take over his features.

"Heya Hero Boy" I laughed. I had caught Link off guard, and felt a bit smug about it I must admit.

"Really Tetra?" He asked. "Trying to give me a heart attack?"

"Maybe" I answered as I flipped over the branch I was hanging from and landed on my feet, my back facing Link before I turned to look at him. He simply shook his head and rolled his eyes, but there was a tiny hint of amusement in those azure blue orbs of his.

"Anyway, I was looking for you" Link stated.

"Oh really?" I asked, my hand slipping into his easily. "What for?"

"Well, one, it's getting late, and two, We need to finish preparing for tomorrow" he answered.

"Oh, right" I replied. I remembered that tomorrow a guest from the kingdom of Ocaodon would arrive and I needed to finish getting everything ready.

"Guess we better go then" I said.

"Yeah" Link nodded, then smiled and started leading me away from the forest out into the field portion of New Hyrule's Forest Realm. "Let's go Mi'lady" he joked.

"Let us, kind Sir" I joked back with an exaggerated regal air and we began walking.

It was a long way to Castle Town but to be honest I didn't care. Link and I laughed the entire way there.

Once in Castle Town we made our way over to the castle itself where Gonzo greeted us as we passed by the library. Living in a place so enormous, not to mention as grand as this, took some time getting used to. I still found it hard to believe that reality had me here and not out on my old ship, travelling the Great Sea, like I had once been. The past is the past however and time waits for no one.

I decided to hurry up and finish the plans that needed to be made to ensure that my guest would be comfortable and enjoy themselves. I did have a kingdom's reputation to uphold after all, and I didn't want anything to be screwed up.

"Your Grace?" Came a voice from outside my study door, followed by a gentle tapping on its wooden surface.

"Come in" I called back. My eyes were busy scanning over the parchment I was writing on. It was a list of what dishes I wanted prepared for next couple of days, hoping that my guest would like it. I had started it earlier and just finished it when the knocking was heard.

One of the maids, Rosalynn, entered the room, giving a small curtsy.

"I do not wish to disturb you Mi'lady" she spoke apologetically "but I was asked to see if the meal plans are ready, the kitchen staff wish to see them so they may be prepared."

"Ah yes, here, just got them done, can you take it to the staff then?" I asked her.

"Of course" she nodded and took the piece of paper I was holding out to her.

"Thanks Rosalynn" I smiled.

I could tell she was the shy, quiet type people would describe as sweet and innocent and lady-like, with her dark hair and sparkling brown eyes, I could see men falling her,". Word around the castle was she did have some suitors, but for some reason turned them down. I never mentioned anything though since it wasn't any of my business anyway.

"It is nothing Mi'lady, is there anything else you need?" she asked.

"Oh not really, just make sure the guest's room is prepared and everything is in order" I told her.

"I'll make certain everything is ready" she nodded.

"Right, thanks again" I said appreciatively.

She smiled and left the room, leaving me to begin thinking of ways to keep Ocaodon's representative from being bored, as boredom would not help any possible alliance from forming. After I spent some time thinking I decided That a train ride around New Hyrule would be lovely, at least, the next day of his/her visit. The first day would perhaps allow just a bit of time spent in Castle Town if he/she wished. I would let him/her rest though since he/she would probably be worn out by the trip here. I suppose I could show them around the castle. That would probably be the best course of action to start with.

With these thoughts in mind I brainstormed some ideas to make sure my guest enjoyed the visit here. Once that was done I hurried over to the dining hall and took my usual seat beside Link at the table. He smiled, acknowledging that I was there and went back to his conversation with Niko.

This was probably one of my favorite times of the day, just Link, I, and my old crew of swabbies just relaxing and enjoying ourselves like old times. I did sometimes wish I could go back to those times, but I liked this life too, it has grown on me. I chose this for myself and I am not quitting now.

I chatted with everyone and spoke with the kitchen staff to see if everything was in order for the meal plan I came up with. some dishes were changed since I decided to go with the staff's recommendation as I usually did. Hey, they are the professionals at cuisine. not me.

After dinner I said good night to everyone and headed to my room, changing out of my blue tunic and white pants into my capris and an over-sized shirt that was comfortable for sleeping in.

As I fell asleep I couldn't help but wonder who the visitor would be. The letter I received from Ocaodon's king only stated that he would send an official over. He never mentioned who it was. I found this strange but decided that I would let the king send whoever he wanted over, might as well see what happens. I still would have some guards with me, just in case, though, I am not a bad fighter myself since I've been training with Link and could protect myself if necessary. With these thoughts floating about my brain fighting off my nervousness and paranoia, sleep finally took me under its spell, and with it, brought a new day ahead.
