Disclaimer: I do not own Danny Phantom. I just enjoy writing about the chacters. Nor do I own the song Juliet, By Emilie Autumn.
Sam Mason took the stage, her black guitar in hand. She looked around the club, making sure Val didn't hold to her threat to make sure Danny was there. '2 Years…' Sam thought to herself as she sat on the small stool. She was a regular performer at the club now, and in fact had been for the past two years. Smiling she took the microphone in hand.
"Hey everyone. I'm Sam Mason…most of you already know that. Tonight, I'm shying away from what I normally sing, and singing something a lot softer. This song is for Dan'el. Where ever he is…I just hope he's not here." For the past year and a half she had been calling Danny Dan'el. Leaving out the i as a way to hide who she was talking about.
Taking a deep breath, she begins to sing and play, "You're in my stars you know
Don't need no crystal ball to tell me so
Whispering in the air
Hoping that my words find you somewhere
Even when I close my eyes
I'll never recreate the Time that flies
The consequence is hanging there
The sky will fall but I don't care
As she sang, she let loose. She wanted to tell him years ago about how she felt. But she didn't want to ruin their friendship. Now, he was with some other girl, and Sam was just a memory. She began to relax as she sang the chorus.
Meet me beneath my balcony and say
No one but you could ever fill my night
Be the sunlight in my every day
Underneath my balcony I'll say
No one but you could ever fill my night
Be the sunlight in my every day
She began to cry. 2 years was a long time to hide how she felt. 2 long years of missing the time they once had. For Sam, it had been 2 years of pain.
Your love is haunting me
And all I want is more to set me free
Whispering in the air
Hoping that my words find you somewhere
Do you hear me call your name
I know we will never be the same
The consequence is hanging there
The sky will fall but I don't care
All that was left of the song was the final chorus. Than Sam could head home. Back to the darkness that was her room, back to the pain of knowing Danny would never know how she felt. For the final Chorus, she let go. She allowed all the anger and pain to come out and she let it take control.
Meet me beneath my balcony and say
No one but you could ever fill my night
Be the sunlight in my every day
Underneath my balcony I'll say
No one but you could ever fill my night
Be the sunlight in my every day.
Standing up, she turned and walked off stage. Val ran up to her. "You were great girl. Oh…and Danny is waiting outside. Good luck"
Sam ran. She couldn't let him see her. Running out the front door, she ran right into him.
"So I'm Dan'el now? It's been 2 years Sam, just admit it."
"There's nothing to admit Danny. Nothing at all." Oh my GOD! Danny had changed. All the workouts had changed him. "I have to get home. I have things to do."
"Nope. Not until we talk." Not giving her a chance to speak, he pushed her up to the side of the building, and kissed her. "I love you Sam, and I'm a moron for not noticing it before. I want you to be by my side forever."
Sam was in shock. "Are you asking me out?"
"Yes Sam. What's your answer?"
She didn't speak, instead, she kissed him. Together, they walked off into the night. For the first time in over a year, the smile on Sam's face was real as she and Danny walked hand in hand.
