Over the Edge

He's toeing the line

He's teetering on the edge

Sanity beckons on one side

And the daring plunge into insanity tempts on the other

Going insane would be easier, he thinks

No decisions

(At least not rational ones)

Would have to be made

And he could be alone

No one to judge him

Ridicule him

Despise him'

He'd merely exist

But why he would do that, he wonders

Why would he, when he's got her

The most perfect creature on the planet

With her long brown-black curls

And her deep brown black eyes

That dazzling smile

Insanity would mean he'd lose her

Forever

His life

His world

His everything

Yes, sanity tempts him more

And he's pulled back over the edge

Sanity means he gets to be hers

And for that, he'll do anything
