Chapter One: A Chance Meeting
"I need your help."
Emily Wright looked up from where she was wiping down the bar at the sound of her best friend's voice. Sebastian Smythe was a tall, handsome guy with light brown-dirty blond hair, green eyes, and always had a smirk on his lips. He was their best friend since they were kids and they told each other everything. She smirked and stood up, crossing her arms over her chest. "Well, well, well. If it isn't my favorite meerkat. What do I owe this pleasure?" she asked, teasing the boy.
"And if it isn't my favorite goth," he teased back with a smirk.
"I'm scene, Seb, you know that."
Sebastian chuckled and flicked a piece of bright red hair from Emily's face. "I know that, Em. I was joking. He sat down on one of the bar stools. "Anyway, I need your help."
"Want me to help you get a date for my party Friday night?" she asked knowingly. The boy wasn't very good with finding a date of any kind on his own. "I can help you there."
Sebastian rolled his eyes but didn't deny the question. "Yeah, yeah. Think there'll be a guy tonight?" He raised his eyebrow and leaned forward onto the bar. "A hot twink with a nice ass would be nice."
Emily shook her head and went back to cleaning the bar before the place actually opened. Even though Sebastian had stopped fucking a new guy every time he stepped foot into her bar, he still had that 'I'll only dance with you if I think you're fuckable' air to him when he was there. "I'll keep my eye out, Seb. You gonna stay all night?"
"You know I am, Em."
She smiled and grabbed a beer, setting it in front of him. "Your limit is three tonight, meerkat."

Kurt fidgeted as he followed Puck into the crowded bar, Wright's. He wasn't use to 'going out' and really didn't want to be at a bar at the moment. He had been dragged there by Puck tp get his mind off of his break up with Blaine. He didn't think it would work, but he went along with it anyway.
"Loosen up, Hummel. Its a gay bar, you won't get picked on. You'll just get hit on by a few guys," Puck said as they made their was to the bar. They found two stools and sat down, Puck flagging down the bartender who was talking to someone at the other end of the bar. She was a tall woman with bright red hair that was layered perfectly and was wearing a tight, black v-neck T-shirt with the bar's logo and skinny jeans. She walked over and leaned against the bar with a smirk, her green eyes mirroring her attitude.
"What can I get you boys?" she asked, obviously eyeing up Puck. Her face said that she new they were underage, but that she wasn't going to say anything.
"Beer for me and and appletini for him," Puck ordered, staring at the girl's ass as she turned around. (A/N: Sorry if I misspelled that. I don't really drink.) "Damn, that is one hot bartender."
Kurt rolled his eyes. "Boys," he mumbled. He looked around the bar. He didn't really like going to places like that, but he guessed this one was alright. It didn't smell of sweat and alcohol like most bars did. Before he knew it, the bartender was back with their drinks. "Thanks," he said as he took the drink, taking a small sip.
"So, first time at a bar?" she asked, leaning over the bar again to be heard.
"Yeah," he nodded. "Well, it this part of Ohio anyway. I don't really like most bars."
"Well, my bar is the best in the city. Don't serve any one person over eight to ten drinks." The bartender smiled. "I'm Emily Wright, by the way. I'm the owner." She held out her hand.
"Kurt Hummel," he replied, shaking her hand. "That's Noah Puckerman, but most people call him Puck."
"He your boyfriend?" The sadness must have shown on his face, because Emily quickly put a hand on his shoulder. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you."
Kurt shook his head. "No, its fine. Its just...my boyfriend...exboyfriend...broke up with me last week. Said I was 'too bitchy' and 'needed to calm down.'" He sighed and took another sip of his drink. "I mean, I didn't do anything wrong. He's the one who was making all of these assumptions. Plus, I just found out yesterday that he was cheating on me with some guy from his old school before breaking up with me to be with him."
"Well, I happen to know someone who likes bitchy guys and has a thing against cheating. He'd never hurt someone like that. Its happened to him a few times and he hated it." She stood up straight. "Let me go talk to him. I'm sure he's dying to dance with someone." And with that, Emily walked away from him to the other end of the bar.
Kurt watched her and locked eyes with a pair of green eyes that were beeper than Emily's. Ones that had him frozen in his seat.

Sebastian nursed his drink as he watched his friend talk with two guys on the other end of the bar. One of them was tall and muscular, not really his type, but the other one was tall and slim. Quite sexy in his opinion with his chestnut hair, light blue eyes, and innocent looks. It was like the guy didn't even know he was sexy. As he goes to get up, he notices that Em was walking back over to him with a devious smirk. That usually meant one of two things: 1) she's about to pull a prank, or 2) she found a guy for him to chat up and maybe ask to her party.
"What's with the smirk, Em?" he asked once she was in front of him.
"See that guy down there? The one drinking the appletini and wearing the dark blue button up and dark grey vest?" she asked.
He looked back down the bar at the hot guy he had been about to go flirt with, locking eyes with a pair of glaze ones. "Yeah, what about him?" He took a sip of his beer and set it down, not looking away from the guy.
"I think I just found you a date. Just try not to be the old 'one-night-stand' Sebastian. He kind of just wants to have a good time, dance, and get his mind off of his ex who left him for another guy and called him too bitchy."
Sebastian smirked and glanced at Emily. "Well, I'm gonna go talk to him. That ex must not know what he's missing out on." He stood up and downed the rest of his beer. "Be back later, Em." He winked at her before putting his hands in his pockets and walking over to the boy. From where he was, he could really enjoy the view. The guy had a great ass covered by tight skinny jeans. Who in their right mind would dump that. He squeezed between the guy and his friend and leaned on the bar facing him. "Haven't seen you here before, hot stuff," he flirted with a smirk.
The guy looked up at him and bushed at the complement. Damn that is hot, he thought. "Um...it...its my first time here," the guy answered.
"Well, I'm glad you came here." He leaned a little closer. "I'm Sebastian, by the way."
The blush on his face deepened and Sebastian wondered if it went all the way down. "Kurt," was his reply. He looked away and down at his drink.
"Want to dance?" he asked, setting his hand on Kurt's arm. "I'm sure you have some killer moves that complement your slender hips." He watched as Kurt seemed to contemplate the idea before nodding and standing up. He took the boy's hand and pulled him out onto the dance floor, resting his hands on his slim hips.
They danced for five songs, Kurt getting more and more relaxed with each song. By the time the sixth song came on, they were flush against each other, and Kurt had his eyes closed. Sebastian couldn't get enough of this boy. He was hot and man could he move his hips. He was like something out of a book. In short, he was perfect.
XxXxXx
Puck watched as some guy pulled Kurt out onto the dance floor. He seemed to actually be enjoying himself instead of wallowing in his tears like he had been for the past few days. He was happy for the guy. That hobbit didn't deserve his princess. Yeah, he calls Kurt his princess, so what? In his mind, he was the king of badassery and Kurt was the princess (if only because of the feminine clothes he wore). He'd only let a badass prince come and take his princess. The hobbit was just a stupid hobbit who he still needed to beat the crap out of for hurting his princess.
A tap on hs shoulder made him turn on his stool and look into a pair of green eyes. The bartender was leaning over the bar and smirking. "So, you just a good friend or are you actually gay?" she asked, moving a piece of red hair out of her face.
Puck smirked back and shook his head. "Nah, I'm just trying to help Kurt have some fun," he replied.
She smiled and grabbed his empty beer bottle. "Want another one?" she asked. "It'll be on the house." She winked at him and grabbed another beer from the counter. "My name's Emily by the way."
Puck took the beer and nodded. "Puck." He took a sip and looked her up and down, admiring the way her clothes complemented her figure. "You got a boyfriend?"
Emily laughed and shook her head. "You move fast." She grabbed her own drink. "But no, I don't have a boyfriend. Owning a gay bar kind of makes them think that I'm a lesbian. I'm not though; I'm full on straight for your information." She took a sip of her drink. "Last boyfriend was in high school."
He couldn't believe that this girl was single. She was hot and had an awesome body. Any guy would have to be blind or stupid to not try and get with her. "You've got to be kidding me. No guy's snagged you yet?"
"Nope." She looked out on the dance floor. "I really hope Seb doesn't blow his chance with Kurt. I think they'd be good for each other. Seb needs a steady relationship not based on sex."
Puck raised his eyebrow and looked at her questioningly. "You know that guy?"
"Yeah," she said, not looking at him. "He's my best friend."
XxXxXx
By the time Kurt and Sebastian made it back to the bar, Kurt had almost forgotten about Blaine. He had enjoyed dancing with Sebastian, though he wasn't exactly sure if he'd be seeing the man again after tonight. He went to sit down next to where Puck was chatting up the bartender. He shook his head. That boy was the biggest flirt in the world.
"Hey Em," Sebastian called once they reached the bar and actually sat down, "refill for Kurt and my other usual for me."
Emily smirked. "You just want me to go away so that you can flirt with him without me teasing you, Seb," she retorted before winking at Puck and walking off to make their drinks.
Kurt looked at Sebastian and watched as he mouthed the words to the song that was booming through the speakers. He looked really handsome in the lights of the bar, and he seemed so relaxed at the moment. It was like he belonged there at the moment.
He was brought out of his musings by his drink being set down in front of him and Sebastian nudging him slightly. "See something you like sweetheart?" he asked with a smirk and a wink.
Kurt blushed and looked down at his drink. It was strange how this guy he just met could make him blush more than Blaine ever could. He frowned. Blaine had never called him anything other than beautiful or cute. He had even gone as far as to tell him that he wasn't sexy. Sebastian had called him hot and had whispered that he was sexy as they danced. Blaine had never done that. Ever. Maybe it was a good thing that they had broken up. Maybe Blaine just wasn't the guy for him. Maybe he could ask Sebastian for his number so that they could stay in touch and maybe go out on a date or something.
His thought process was broken by Sebastian shaking his shoulder. "Kurt, you alright?"
Kurt nodded and took a sip of his drink. "Yeah, I've just realized something, though."
"And what is that, sweet-cheeks?"
Kurt looked up at Sebastian and smiled. "That Blaine breaking up with me was actually a good thing. I got to meet you, and I realized that he only saw me as beautiful and cute instead of both those and hot and sexy. You know, he even told me before we got together that he didn't think I was sexy? Then he goes and asks me out a few weeks later after my pet bird dies."
"Wow, this Blaine guy sounds like a major jackass," Sebastian commented. "Who would break up with a guy that has your figure? You're like a walking wet dream in a McQueen vest."
Kurt's eyes brightened. He knew fashion labels. He just earned brownie points for that. "You know fashion?"
"Some, but I sometimes get confused with some of them."
"Can I have your number?" he asked, blushing slightly at how eager he sounded. "You don't have to, I was just wondering-"
"Here, its my card. My cell number is on the back," Sebastian said with a wink.
Kurt looked down at the card and raised his eyebrow. "You're a lawyer?"
The man shrugged. "Just got out of law school, so I'm not very busy yet. I also work here part time since my best friend owns it."
Kurt nodded. "How old are you?" he asked, slipping the card into his back pocket.
"I'm twenty-five. I took a lot of summer and winter courses to graduate early to help Em with her business." He smiled handsomely. "What about you?"
"Oh, I'm um..." Kurt blushed and looked away. "I'm eighteen. I'm in my last year of high school."
"At least you're not younger. I wouldn't be able to ask you out if you were."
Kurt blushed even more at Sebastian's words. He wanted to ask him out? Like, on a date? He couldn't believe his luck.
"Hey, Hummel!" Puck called, standing up from his chair. "Time to go! Say good-bye to your new man and move your ass. We got a two hour drive ahead of us."
Kurt sighed and stood up. "Guess I'll see you around?"
"I hope so. Text me when you get home so I don't worry." Sebastian leaned down and kissed Kurt gently. "And so that I have your number."
Kurt blushed and nodded, not trusting his words as he waved and followed Puck out, his hand subconsciously going to his lips.
Puck laughed and put his arm around Kurt. "I'm guessing you're getting over the hobbit?" he asked with a smirk.
"I think I'm getting there, Puck. I really think I'm getting there."
XxXxXx
Sebastian sat flopped down on the small couch in Emily's office after Kurt left. He couldn't stop smiling. That boy was just so interesting. They didn't talk much, but he was hoping that they were going to be able to get to know each other in the future. He put his hands behind his head and sighed. This had been the best night since he had gotten back to Ohio from New York. He was glad that his best friend had wanted to start her own business and had asked him to help her run it for awhile.
He closed his eyes and started to slowly fall asleep until his phone vibrated. He pulled it out of his pocket and opened the text.
Just made it to Puck's house. I'm staying with him since I told my dad that I was staying with a friend tonight. I had fun, and hope you'll want to get coffee some time. -Kurt
Sebastian smiled and texted him back, not wasting any time.
I'm glad, and I'm guessing Puck was the guy you came here with? And i'd love to get coffee some time. Say, tomorrow afternoon? I can meet you at a coffee shop near you. -Seb
Yeah, he's kinda my new best friend after my old one stopped talking to me. And meet me at the Lima Bean at 4:30 if you can. I have glee after school. -K
Sebastian raised his eyebrow. The guy can sing? I wonder what that sounds like.
Why don't I just pick you up from school? That way you don't have to waist gas for me. -Seb
If you want to. You don't have to. -K
What school do you go to? -Seb
McKinley High. -K
Pick you up at around four then. -Seb
