"Hey" Lily said shyly, the corners of her mouth lilting into a warm smile as her eyes scanned the one she'd been thinking about for months. James walked up to her, his eyes fixed on hers completely absorbed on the green little orbs that she saw the world, and at this moment him through. Her anxiety at meeting him after months of corresponding long distance melted away. She wasn't sure if she would get cocky, playful, inconsiderate James, or this one who in just his face was revealing how much every letter, email, text, and message had meant to him while apart over the summer break. When he finally came up to her, he tentatively reached a hand and caressed the side of her face slowly moving away a lock of red hair behind her ear. "Lily" he breathed, like the word, like she was his rock in the stormy seas of life, and the one who made him feel alive every day. He rested his forehead against hers and she closed her eyes almost crying. His hand went around to pull her waist closer to him and he breathed in deeply. "I missed you." he said now opening his eyes for her to see the vulnerability exposed in them. She swallowed at the intensity and the weakness he was exposing to her, a wave of peace filling her heart, in the knowledge that he felt what she experienced with him too. She found his hand and interlocked their fingers together bringing his knuckles to her lips to brush her lips against in a kiss. "Tonight, if you want, a few hours after dinner in the Great Hall, we can meet on the Quidditch Pitch and see Ushantaka's Comet?" she asked. She was asking him to lie under the stars and watch the sky with her because that's all she wanted to do with him. Wonder about life, and talk and talk and talk. "Absolutely" he said smiling. The rest of the term they did everything together. Breakfast, studying in the library, classes, lunch, dinner, and every night weather permitting they talked kissed and got as close to each other in every way a human can psychologically, emotionally, physically and became the couple that is the meaning of true love: Lily and James Potter.
