Dedicated to Gemma who gave me this idea!

"I'm pregnant. You're the father". Booth's mouth raised into a smile. He couldn't believe what she was saying. She was pregnant; with his child. He was going to be a father. Again. And this time it was with Bones – the woman that he had been in love with for years and had spent many a time dreaming about this happening. And now it was happening. Angela had just given birth to Michael Hodgins so they had been gathered at the hospital, Booth had needed some air so he made a quick escape outside and Bones had followed. And now here they were, with her telling him that she was going to have his baby. He couldn't believe his luck.

He hugged her and held her close to him as she relaxed against his chest and wrapped her arms around his muscular body. "Thank you" he whispered into her ear and gently breathed in the scent of her hair. Apples. He couldn't stop smiling. Everything he had wished for was coming true. He felt Bones' body shaking slightly and heard the soft sob that indicated that she was crying.

Worried, he pulled back gently and looked at Bones. "What's wrong? Don't you want this?" he wiped the tears from her cheeks using his thumb and found an old tissue in his pocket that he fished out and handed to her. She daubed her eyes and placed the tissue into her pocket. She looked at Booth and he couldn't help but think how beautiful she looked, even then with tears staining her eyes.

"Of course I do Booth. It's just…" she stopped, unsure of what to say. Of course she had wanted it, they both had. They had planned to have a child together two years previous but Booth's tumour overcome that and the two had never spoken of it again. But this time, this time it was different. It wasn't Booth being a donor and Brennan raising the baby, no, this time it was Booth and Bones having a child together and being together.

Booth placed his hand on Bones' cold but soft cheek and brushed his thumb gently over her supple skin "I want this too Bones. I want you. You know that". She did and she lifted her chin slightly so that their lips were gently touching. He brushed his lips over hers and pulled her closer to kiss her properly.

Bones didn't resist. This is what she had been in denial over for years and now she finally had the chance to be happy. To be with the one person that she had truly loved, and because it was more than hormones telling her that she had an attraction to him. She pulled back gently, her arms still wrapped protectively around his waist.

"I love you Booth"

"I love you too Bones. Always have" He kissed her forehead and took her hand and gently made their way back into the hospital. Finally happy. Finally together. Finally belonging.
