A/N: This was written before the 5th book was released. So this story kind of happens post-4th book but without the knowledge that we acquire from reading the last three books. I guess in a way it is an AU fic, even though at the time of its writing it was still kind of in the same universe. If any of that makes sense.

It was late, but how late he was unsure of. Time did not matter to him at that moment, as he was lost in his lover's eyes. He looked down at her with a deep gaze, daring not to let his eyes stray to the beautiful flaming mass of red hair contrasting dully against the black of his pillows, or the pale arm that rested on top of the black comfortor.

He wanted to give in, oh how he did, to just let go and let the moment pass. Sweat beaded both their brows from their intense activity, though their breath was unbatted.

A muscle at his left temple twitched, and he felt her legs stir, coming in contact with him. And he blinked.

Goddamnit, he blinked.

A triumphant grin spread across that freckled face as she squealed, "I win!" and giggled, clasping her hands in front of her as best she could lying on her side.

He tried to scowl his most sincere scowl, but only succeeded in looking like a sore loser, a look of mock-resentment on his features.

The insufferable Weasley girl had beat him at another staring contest.

And he didn't care for her any less.
