Hermione lay on her back staring up at the clouds. It was the first warm day of spring and she planned on soaking up all the heat she could. She had taken a blanket and a book into the garden of her and Ron's house and sat and read for an hour before rolling onto her back and letting her mind wander back to Hogwarts.

She remembered springs where groups of students would come sit in the sun, just chatting and relaxing. Where they would enjoy the few weeks before they all went home. Or enjoy the few days before all havoc broke loose as it was one to do. She remembered fondly one day where Harry, Ron and herself had ended up in hysterics after a long conversation about Crabbe and Goyle's possible secret love affair.

Ron stood in the kitchen doorway smiling at Hermione giggling to herself. He had just returned home and had seen her lying on the grass as he went to the kitchen for a snack. He had stopped and leaned against the door frame and just watched her. They had been living together for two years now and were completely in love.

Ron bit his lip in thought then pushed away from the door frame. He walked into the kitchen, grabbed a Kit Kat from the fridge then walked quietly out to Hermione. He lay down next to her saying a simple "Hi." which she returned as she slid closer to him. They were quiet for a minute before Ron pointed to the sky and said "That cloud looks like an owl." Hermione smiled and said "Look, a cauldron, there." They both laughed when they spotted a cloud that looked like a cat in a boot.

They both went quiet again. Ron reached into his pocket and pulled out the Kit Kat. He unwrapped it, snapped it in half and handed one half to Hermione and began eating the other half himself. He looked at her and smiled, the way she ate Kit Kats was so cute to him, nibbling all the chocolate off then eating the wafer, he thought it was adorable.

When she finished she turned her head to look at him and returned his smile. After a few moments he reached into his pocket again and pulled out a small red box. It had been in his pocket for a few days, he had been planning on arranging a special night but that right there seemed the perfect moment.

He kissed Hermione's lips softly before sliding the box into her hands. She looked at her hand and her eyes widened. "Is this..?" She asked stunned. Ron only smiled in response. She sat up and carefully opened the box. Inside was a beautiful ring, simple yet stunning. She stuttered not knowing what to say. Ron sat up beside her taking the box out of her hand. He took out the ring and gently held her hand.

"I would be nothing without you. You are my everything and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?"

Hermione scanned every inch of Ron's face with her eyes taking in every freckle, every curve and every scar.

"Yes. Always."

Ron slid the ring onto her finger. She threw herself into his arms hugging him tightly then pulled back and kissed him.
