"It's been a while." There was the tension, hanging thick between the two of them.

He nodded. "Aa."

He had been in Germany too long. She had long transferred out of Seigaku; there she found new love. But he hadn't found out yet. Perphaps it was time to say.

She turned to face her soon-to-be ex-boyfriend. He held back a gasp: Her eyes were red from crying, and through them shone confusion and depression. Slowly, she rolled up her winter uniform to reveal a collection of scars, some healed, some healing, some fresh and bleeding. "Do you know what these are?" Her scars standing out on her pale skin. "After you went, I transferred to Hyotei. I waited for you. Your calls. I didn't know what to do."

"In Hyotei, I made new friends, I found new love. I didn't understand, I still don't."

Silence.

"Are you here to break up with me?" The honey eyed boy looked into her maghony brown eyes. Leave it to the ice cold buchou to go straight to the point.

"So you know." She smiled wearily. Without a word, the young man embraced the bundle of sobs in fornt of him. She hugged back gratefully and gave him a peck on the lips. It was fast, but the brunette didn't miss all the emotions; she had poured out every feeling she had for him.

There was no more of love for him left in her heart.

They stayed together for sometime, enjoying each other's presence as a friend. She stood up abruptly, fixed her uniform and bowed towards him, the shadow covering her eyes. Looking up, her gaze bore into his eyes.

The bespectacled boy blotted the ink from his paper. He had spaced out again. He removed his glasses and cleaned them slowly with the edge of his shirt. Maybe it was my fault..

Flashback

She choked, fresh tears running freely down her cheeks like a tap. "Love is powerful," She choked. "But even love withers when left untended to."
