Peace and Poise to Danger and Death
Poppy stared at the dark wall of the unlit room, afraid of her powers weakening immensely. James sat across from her, looking at her expression, trying deeply to find any mixed emotions, but was losing courage in his search for any.
"Jamie, I'm hungry." Poppy whimpered as she shot her light head towards James, as if he would dart out of his wooden chair at that moment and kill a random person off of the street next to his untidy apartment. But he glared at her, as if she requested something out of the ordinary.
"Now, Poppy, you know you can't have any food until nighttime. You really don't want to lose your powers, even for a minute. Especially since you're a new-born." James warned Poppy. They both knew she had to be extremely careful, or else she would have done exactly what she did on the dark night she was turned into a vampire. She had been thirsty for some sweet blood when she protruded from her coffin at her human funeral, and she pranced on an ordinary pedestrian, losing complete control. She was close to devouring his entire juicy, life source, but then, just in time, James caught her before any more damage was done.
"I know, Jamie. I'm sorry. I'm just so hungry tonight. I don't know why, but I became extremely hungry for the past month. Maybe because I'm not a new-born anymore. I'm learning."
James heaved a sigh and reached for Poppy. Poppy took his pale-white hand and kissed it lightly. She then caressed her lips up more to his lengthy arm as she stood from her boringly brown chair. They swerved around the table and James picked Poppy up in one fluid motion, something a human would only fantasize about when they were making love.
James rushed full speed to their boring tan room, but they had no care for the color now. He landed on the firm bed with her, and they tore off each other's perfumed clothes. James bit Poppy's lip gently and romantically, and she grabbed his thighs. He started massaging her tongue against his, and she pushed her soft leg toward his, so they would intertwine. They held hands while James went with his lips deep down her neck.
Poppy, I love you. You are my true soul mate. This feeling is incredibly exciting. You are a terrific lover. Nothing could spoil this moment.
Poppy chuckled and began to lick all over his neck then went down to his muscular chest when they were suddenly interrupted. A faint knock came to the door and Poppy looked at James as if he would ignore it, but he gently pushed her aside and dashed hurriedly to answer it.
As he opened the solid door, he was forcing it to shut, although the person from the outside detested that.
"Hello, Cousin. How are you feeling? Are you thirsty? I brought you a little snack."
The seemingly charming man strolled inside nonchalantly and dragged a petite girl with him.
"Her name's Poppy. Well, what do you know? The same name your little witch-vampire girlfriend is. Do you still date her? I would like to give her a try."
"Hello, Ash. It's good to see you again. Well, we both know that's an overstatement. What are you here for?" Poppy interrupted briskly from around the doorway.
"I just wanted to invite you for a party my friend's having. Lots of humans are invited, and I thought you might want a treat." Ash spoke with no remorse.
"Interested?"
"Who's hosting it?" James questioned, trying to catch Ash in a blind lie.
"You'll see."
