Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "Bertie's Chase" from Season 2, with added lines by tate310. Enjoy and comment.
One morning, Edward was waiting to pick up passengers from Thomas's train.
"PEEP PEEP!" whistled Edward. "We're late! Where's Thomas? He's usually right on time?"
"Oh dear, what is the matter my good Edward?" sang the fireman.
"Thomas is late!" snapped Edward.
"I'll climb on the cab and look for him!" said the driver.
So the driver did.
"Can you see him?" asked the fireman.
"No!" replied the driver. "But I see Bertie the Bus. He looks like he's in a hurry to get somewhere!"
The driver climbed back down, and Edward puffed away.
But what Edward didn't know was that Bertie had Thomas's passengers.
"Stop!" cried Bertie. "I have Thomas's passengers!"
But it was no use. Edward had already puffed away.
"Bother Thomas's fireman being too ill to work!" grumbled Bertie.
"That will be enough Bertie." said his driver. "It wasn't his fault. But we must keep our promise to Thomas."
"I'll catch Edward or bust!" said Bertie.
Then he saw Edward at the top of the hill.
"Hooray!" cheered Bertie.
But Edward stopped at the station.
"Bother!" said Bertie.
But Edward had really stopped at the crossing.
"That's better!" said Bertie.
Bertie roared down the hill.
"Well done Bertie!" cheered his passengers.
Bertie skidded into the yard, just as Edward puffed away again.
"Wait!" cried Bertie.
But it was too late.
"Don't worry." said his passengers, "we'll get him at the next station!"
Bertie then set off once more to chase Edward.
Meanwhile, Edward was puffing up Gordon's hill.
"This hill is too steep, this hill is too steep!" grumbled Edward's coaches.
They reached the top at last, and puffed right into the station.
"Get in quickly please!" called Edward.
The conductor blew his whistle, and Edward's driver looked back, but the signal hadn't dropped.
Then, Edward heard Bertie, who was just pulling into the station.
"I'm sorry for chasing you." said Edward.
"My fault!" replied Bertie. "You didn't know that I had Thomas's passengers!"
Edward puffed away.
"Three cheers for Bertie!" called the passengers.
"Hip hip hooray, hip hip hooray, hip hip hooray!" cheered the passengers.
Bertie raced back to tell Thomas that all was well.
"Thank you Bertie!" said Thomas. "You're a really great friend!"
