So, this is my first Deeks & Kensi fic it's a one shot dealing with what happened between them in the last episode. So, what if the reason Kensi is not comfortable around kids is because growing up she never felt comfortable because her parents never cares enough for her and when she got older she began to not hate but just dislike kids because her own childhood didn't allow the people she wanted to love her back when she wanted them to show her she IS loved. POV's from both Deek's and Kenis, with a little POV from Hetty at the end.

Deek's POV:

After a whole night of babysitting Sam's kids Deek's drives Kensi home still wondering why she's so afraid of children. As he sat in the car waiting for Kensi to finish talking to Sam and saying her goodbyes to him it finally came to him why Kensi was hesitant on babysitting in general and it probably didn't have anything to do with Sam's kids at all.

I think Kensi's reactions today over watching Sam's kids was a bit over reacted. So, when Kensi finally said goodbye to Sam and his kids and came back outside I could have sworn I saw a smile on Kensi's face. As she hugged Sam, I sat watching from afar and the moment he hasn't seen all day and this evening was something Kensi whispered into Sam's ear as she hugged him.

Kensi's POV:

"Thank you for babysitting, and for not letting Deek's do anything bad or harmful to my kids." Sam smiled at me and I laughed but I think Sam should be more trusting in Deek's because he's really a hands on step-in-babysit-dad and while watching him play and entertain Sam's kids I realized how great Deek's is with any kids. Yes, his childhood wasn't great but who's childhood is perfect? So, I hug Sam and whisper quietly into his ear.

"You should give Deek's a break he was really great tonight with your kids." It's true she's never seen Martin that happy just babysitting someone elses kids but he seemed to have a ball tonight and the kids seem to love being around Martin.

"Really? Well I'm just glad nobody got hurt and everyone's still alive." Sam's still not buying what I told him but that's okay because seeing Deek's tonight with Sam's kids was such a light at the end of a crazy day at NCIS.

Deek's & Kensi's POV's:

Kensi's coming back here so whatever she told Sam must have been nice since she had a smile on her face as she came into the car and closed the door. I'm not sure why she's happy or what she told Sam but I will respect what she said and not bother her about it.

Deek's smiled at me as I entered the car but than turned to face the steering wheel and put the car into drive. He pulled out onto the street with not saying anything which is a good thing because I'm not going t deal with any of his teasing tonight I'm just too tired for that.

We head home for the night and hoped that come morning or even the next week no one will ask any questions or bug the other one for answers to those questions that came up. We like for this time only to not be too serious or funny because what Deek's did with Kensi tonight showed a whole new side to Deek's that Kensi never has seen before. And, Kensi didn't have Deek's teasing or making fun of what she told Sam because that's just between her and Sam.

Hetty's POV:

Sometimes I sit here at work and see my young employees (I don't really like that term because they are more like my family) thinking about everyone's young lives and their childhood traumas. Deek's & Kensi's loyalty towards one another and the fact that both can trust the other one knowing that both have had bad childhoods. They really don't know it yet but I know they are more than just colleagues and friends and I hope one day both see the brighter of their friendship and not look at each other as just partners.
