Just another Thalia/Luke one-shot :) No, it isn't one of those lovey-dovey ones. Besides, we all know Thalia isn't that kind of a girl ;) It's just light, fluffy humor. Lately I've been obsessed with Thalia and Luke. Dunno why really :P

She was glaring into a store window, stretching the skin on her cheeks around to get a better look of her face. She groaned, silently cursing whatever force of nature caused her this.

Her mom was a celebrity, and not to mention she had completely flawless skin that made dermatologists think twice about their stuff. What had happened? Did the clear skin skip a generation?

"Oh! There you are," Luke said, coming up from behind her. "I just stole us a box of doughnuts! Come on, the safe house is just like, a couple blocks away and-" he noticed she was still looking at her reflection, "What're you doing?" he asked.

She wasn't about to tell him that she was staring at her spray of freckles that she dreaded to no end. No one took her as seriously with all of those. Maybe she was overreacting, but all she could think about was whether or not she could get her hands on some of that cover-up stuff.

"Nothing," she answered calmly, turning to face him. He didn't look convinced, "Didn't seem like nothing. What're you looking at? Something in the store you want?" he asked incredulously.

She glanced up at the store sign. She hadn't even noticed it was a bookstore, and they both knew that with dyslexia, reading wasn't exactly a preference. "No-no. Just looking at my reflection," she mumbled.

"And why would you do that?" Luke asked, crossing the line from curiosity, to straight up annoying. She sighed, exasperated, "Luke, I'm a thirteen-year-old girl. Do my motives really need to be questioned when I look at myself in the mirror?" she grumbled, rolling her eyes.

"You aren't a normal thirteen-year-old girl, Thals," he answered cheekily, "What's up?"

"For Zeus's sake, I was looking at my freckles. Okay?" she explained quickly, looking anywhere but his face. He examined them, making her extremely uncomfortable, and reached out to touch her face.

She slapped at his hand, "Stop that!" she snapped. He looked amused. "Actually," he said, "I think they're kind of cute."

"All the more reason to cover them up," she grumbled, but smiled nonetheless, as they set off to the safe house.
