I thought that Akainu would be an interesting character to write about, so here's a little something I've been working on with Akainu.

Disclaimer: I do not own One Piece, Oda-sensei does

The Power That Can Burn Even Fire

The wind blew through the ruins. The sun was high on the sky and shone brightly upon the remains of the once peaceful village. The ashes were spread all over the ground and small pieces of bones could be found beneath the rubble. The fire had long ago been extinguished, but no one had set a foot in the town since that day, so everything looked exactly as it had, when the fire had finally gone out.

Footsteps could now be heard on what had once been the main road. A man was walking through the ruined village, searching. He would, occasionally, bend down and pick up stuff from the rubble, which had not been destroyed by the flames, but then he would put it down again and continue down the road.

He finally came to what had once been a small house, in which a mother had lived with her daughter. He stepped into the house through what had once been a door. He walked into the bedroom, where he found a small pile of ashes and bones. He sat down beside it and noticed something that was half buried under some of the ashes. He reached down and found himself holding a very familiar locket. He looked at it and clearly remembered the day he had bought it. It had been the first birthday present he had bought her and after that she had never been seen without it. He opened the locket and inside were the same pictures as the last time he had seen the inside of the locket. On the left side there was a picture of the two of them. It had been taken right after they had bought the house. They had asked their neighbour to take the picture and after he had taken the picture, he had welcomed them to the village and to West Blue. The picture on the right side was a picture of her and their daughter on her two year old birthday. Tears were clouding his sight by now and he closed the locket, but he didn't move. He stayed on his knees.

This wasn't supposed to happen. This had been the reason that they hadn't lived on the Grand Line, because of the damned pirates. However, the start of what would soon be known as the Great Pirate Era, had made even the four blues unsafe. It had only been a week since the execution of the Pirate King Gol D. Roger and pirates from all over the world had risen out of nothing in the search of the Pirate King's legacy, the One Piece. When the news of the uproars that suddenly occurred in the four blues reached his ears, he had immediately left every responsibility he had as Marine Captain and set sail for West Blue, but all in vain. When he arrived to the village everything had been burned to the ground, there had been no survivors to tell him what had happened or who did it, but there was no doubt in his mind that this was the work of pirates.

He clenched his fist firmly around the locket as he cried. For a long time, only the sound of his sorrow could be heard.

As his fist bore through the chest of the young pirate in front of him he felt satisfied. He had gotten what he wanted. Revenge upon the man, who had started this age of death and sorrow. Revenge upon the man, who had been the reason that he had lost everything. As he had taken his daughter, he would take his son. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth and justice have been given.

The sun was about to go down and the sky was painted in frozen flames. The man was now standing in the middle of the village looking up in the sky as he whispered these words:

"I am Sakazuki and I will obtain the power that can burn even fire."

If you liked it, then please let me know, I would really appreciate it :)
