Things to know before you read: Lorelai never proposed and just walked away from Luke the night Rory dropped out of Yale and went home and changed into some sweats and grabbed Chris's old cigarette's and went to sit by the lake by herself.

Chapter 1

After Lorelai had one of the worse nights of her life that she never thought would happen and finds herself alone and cold by the lake and is smoking a cigarette crying. A little while later she hears footsteps coming down the bridge and tenses up.

"hey." she hears a filimar voice say

Lorelai breathes the smoke outof her mouth and looks up slowly and sees the hoodlum she's always hated standing there.

"what are you doing here?" she asks him in a depressed tone

"nothing; Are you smoking?" he asks her like she's crazy and it's something he never though he would see her do

"it's just one cigarette okay. I just had a really bad night and I just want to be alone...what are you doing here?" she asks him again

"nothing I just came back to..." he gets cut off

"yeah, well she's not here okay and I really don't want to talk about her right now!" she tells him meanly

"who are you talking about?" he wonders

"you know who I'm talking about so just drop it okay.

"okay." he says

Lorelai sighs "I'm sorry but she just dropp.." she gets cut off by him

"yeah yeah I know Luke just kind of eluded to something." he tells her

Lorelai takes another puff of her cigarette.

"can I...?" he wonders

"I don't care." she tells him

Jess sits next to her and rubs her back softly.

Lorelai looks at him all soft "Jess..what are you do...?" she wonders

"I think you know what I'm doing come on Lorelai." he says and smiles at her trying to comfort her

Lorelai just gives in and lets him and Jess slowly leans in and kisses her and Lorelai just goes along with it since she's so upset and needs comfort.

Lorelai holds his cheek gently getting into it and pulls away "ah no we can't do this." she tells him

"but I..you know we want to do this." he tells her

"it's wrong you're Luke's nephew." she tells him

"it can be our thing." he tells her still trying to convince her that this is right for the both of them

Lorelai just smiles softly again and gets into kissing him again with her hand on his cheek.
