Alanna climbed into George's window, her cloak covering her shoulders, dagger at side. This time of night was her favorite to visit the king of the rouge. With the dark outside to cover her sneak away.
George sat by the fire in the hearth of his room, waiting for Alanna to shed her cloak, weapons, and shoes. "Are you ready for tonight's lesson?" he asked standing up. He sat on the floor across from Alanna and began to warm up.
She only nodded, trying to calm and focus her mind for the lessons to come. Standing up, the two of them took their positions and began practicing different punches, throws, and a few kicks here and there. "I think after these four months you're ready to face me. The only way to know if you've learned anything is to put it to the test."
With that George lunged at her going to grab her shoulder and push down, getting the upper advantage by using his superior strength and height. Her body twisted in a practiced fall from page training. Landing on her stomach, Alanna jumped to her feet, only to have George hook his leg around her and pull. This caused her sense of balance to be thrown.
He knew that if she had gotten seriously injures the people up at the palace would begin to question her. As a last minute decision he grabbed her around the waist, catching her mid dip.
"George" Alanna said a hidden weakness apparent in her voice. "I've got a dark side. I'm a girl in page training to become a night. How can you handle that?"
Smiling, George reached down to touch his lips gently to hers before pulling back. "Only if you can handle me being king of the rouge" he said as he lifted her back to her feet.
"You only got away with that because you had a hold on me" Alanna said, slipping her shoes on quickly and threw her cloak around her shoulders. Climbing out the window, Alanna ran down the street, only touching her lips once before shoving the thought away until later.
