Disclaimer: I do not own Maria-sama ga Miteru, though Sei is my bestfriend as far as my imagination is concerned.
It was the usual fighting.
Both didn't know exactly where it started, but soon the argument escalated to a full blown lovers' spat. There were hissings, curses, and things being thrown at different trajectories. It ended up, as usual, with something more physical, and Sei, predictably, stormed out of their shared flat.
It took a few hours, but Youko-it's always Youko-who is the first to give in to reason, and begrudgingly surrender her pride to something she knows is more important. There was only one place to go to, in order to find Sei. Instinctively, Youko headed towards the al fresco cafe found at the riverbank a few blocks away from their place. The sight of water current moving at its own determined pace was their favorite.
Whatever anger Youko felt always melts the moment she sees Sei unconsciously doing something childishly adorable, and today was no exception. The former Rosa Chinensis smiled to herself upon finding Sei scowling while she rubbed her right cheek repetitively.
Youko quietly sat next to the brooding blonde girl, and carefully placed a cup of green tea latte on top of Sei's table. They remained silent, both gazing towards the river. Sei jerked a bit at the feel of raindrops, and briskly looked up at the huge umbrella on top of her. She repositioned herself in order to be fully protected, while Youko remained still and let the drizzle gently moist her skin. The rain began to fall stronger and looked like it was about to become a mini deluge, though that did not seem to matter to Youko. She closed her eyes and imagined her pain being washed away by every touch of water.
"Come here", a hushed voice broke Youko's reverie. "You'll get sick"
Without so much as a sound, Youko gingerly moved her chair near Sei, though deliberately kept a wide breadth-a silent protest of a hurting lover. A small smile crept out of Sei's face, reached out for the other's hand, and mumbled, "closer...please?".
Youko had long realized she can never resist a request like that. She soon found herself shoulder to shoulder, in the middle of a downpour, to a white rose-her white rose. The most beguiling of them all.
It was the usual making up.
A/N: I owe the readers of "Rewind" an update. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm really sorry. I will update it soon. I just, once again, am stuck with school work. This one-shot was just an "inspired" one, and I had to write it down. I must admit I haven't edited this, so apologies for any error you spot.
