Prologue-ish Thing
A/N- This fic is not going to follow the FMA:B story line perfectly. It will mostly follow it, but it will have some aspects of A Series of Unfortunate Events mixed into it. I can't promise updates will be frequent, I just write whenever I have the motivation to.

My name is Lemony Snicket, and it is my solemn duty to inform you that this is not a happy story. It does have a happy ending, but it takes an extremely long time to get there, and so many tragic and unfortunate things happen before then that you are likely to stop reading long before the end. If you have read the tale of the Baudelaire orphans, then you know exactly how tragic it is, and I'm sure you wish you had not read it. This story is just as, if not more, tragic than the story of the Baudelaire orphans, so please, I implore you, do not read this book.
This is the story of two children who experienced a great deal loss early in their life, and payed the consequences for wanting something back that they shouldn't have had to lose in the first place. This is the story of a war hero who does not feel like a hero at all, and a lieutenant who trusts only one man to watch her back. This is the story of a man who experienced the death of many people he loved, and did many terrible things as a result of it. This the story of two very different people seeking the same thing, and a man who wished he could die. It is a story of great loss, pain, and suffering, and unless you want to spend as many nights crying yourselves to sleep as I did, you should stop reading at once.
