Family Life

"Salem! Asher! I'm going to kill you!"

The sound of running filled the small apartment like room, as did giggling of two small boys.

"Conner! Save us!"

Conner looked up from his book, only to be met by two boys, one with black hair, blue eyes, green skin and three circles who was about five, and one who had caramel hair, green eyes and peach skin who was about ten. They pounced on him, and tried to block themselves from whoever was after them with his arms.

"Conner, don't you dare take their side." A woman, no a girl, walked in. She had long, golden hair, that contrasted with her green skin and blue eyes. She, like the youngest boy, had three circles on her forehead. She was livid, eyes in the coldest glare, and hand wrapped around something that could be a weapon. "They are so in trouble!"

"Before you murder them, can you at least tell me what's wrong?" Conner tried to peacefully negotiate with the girl.

"They snuck into my room and switched the wires on my screwdriver! When I went to go and work on the cross-time communicator for father and Clark, my screwdriver exploded! Exploded! Do you know how serious that could have been?"

"That was pretty dumb guys."

"Please Conner! Don't let her get us! We're still kids! We have lives to live!" Asher pleaded. Conner had to laugh at how pathetic they looked. One would expect for the boys to have learned, but apparently not.

"Guys, you really shouldn't do this to her..."

"Why? Because it's that time of the month?" Salem asked in total innocence. Zandra launched herself at the boys. At that moment, Clark and Querl walked in, with that night's supper.

"Zandra!" Querl dropped the food off, then took his daughter's waist. He pulled her away from the screaming boys, and terrified Conner.

"What's going on?" Clark asked after he had gotten Asher and Salem calmed down, and Querl had disarmed Zandra.

"They're imbeciles!" Zandra ranted. "They could have ruined my project that's taken me a YEAR to get this far!"

"We didn't know!" The boys yelled. Conner sat there, dumbfounded.

Clark and Querl looked at each other with the same, tired face. This is what it was like in the life of a family.
