Hi everyone! I know, I know, I have a ton of other stories to update, but it's…a long story. The short version is, my mental health has been really bad over the last couple of years, and it's very hard for me to sit down and write whole chapters by myself. Plus, I've been co-authoring a Diabolik Lovers fanfic with the awesome PrismRain13 (check out her stories!), and got inspired to try a story of my own. Prism was kind enough to role-play this chapter with me, and we'll see what happens with this story. This is my first Diabolik Lovers fic, so I hope I get the boys' personalities right!

PrismRain13's Diabolik Lovers fic, "Second Victim" can be found here: s/12428775/1/Second-Victim. Seriously, it's one of my favorite stories on this site.

'Ten more minutes. Just ten more minutes, then two whole weeks without chemistry!' Sixteen-year-old Naoko Takumi tried to force her eyes to focus on the chalkboard, but she couldn't help drifting in and out of what the teacher was saying. A dull subject and a boring, monotone-sounding teacher was a recipe for academic torture. Out of habit, Naoko's eyes drifted towards the window; it was still weird going to school so late at night. But the stars twinkling in the night sky did provide a beautiful, if brief reprieve from the teacher's droning.

A small chill shot through Naoko's body when she noticed the boy sitting by the window glaring at her with piercing red eyes. His silver locks almost hid his left eye completely. Silently apologizing, Naoko looked down at her notes, and back at the board, pretending nothing had happened. She still hadn't made any real friends here, the last thing she wanted was one of her classmates on her case. 'Okay, what was the chemical formula for that…?' Naoko hastily copied down the formula the teacher was scribbling on the chalkboard. Why were the abbreviations all so confusing, wasn't the whole point of abbreviations to keep things simpler? Naoko's jet-black hair spilled over her shoulder, blocking the girl's view of her paper. Maybe she could convince her parents to let her have it cut during vacation.

After what seemed like an eternity, the dismissal bell sounded. The comforting buzz of her chattering classmates always made Naoko feel free, since it meant school was over for the day…night, whatever. Naoko was proud to have made it into such an elite school, but it was still difficult to adjust to a night school schedule. It made chemistry just that much more agonizing to endure. Zipping her bag shut, Naoko felt lighter than usual as the school night came to a close. In just twenty-four hours, she would be visiting America and meeting her cousins for the first time. There was no denying that she was nervous, but excited at the same time to see a new country. Naoko was half American on her father's side, and he had told her so many great stories about what it was like where he grew up. He'd studied abroad in Osaka during college, meeting and falling in love with her mother. They married after they graduated, and while he was happy, Naoko's father did miss America.

As the last of her classmates filed out, Naoko checked her cell phone to find that her mother had texted her an hour earlier. "(I'm running late at work, so I'll be an hour late picking you up. Feel free to wait at one of the shops or cafes near the school.)".

"(Sounds great, see you then.)" Naoko texted back. It was late at night when school got out but there should be a café that was still open. Now that Naoko thought about it, a hot chocolate did sound good. But, just as she started making her way to the school's exit, she heard a sound emerge from one of the classrooms.

"Ayato, please, stop!"

'Huh?' That was a girl's voice, and she sounded really scared.

"Ayato, that hurts!"

"Oh, does it, pancake?"

'That girl... she sounds like she's in pain... what's going on?' Naoto thought as she followed the voices out of curiosity and fear. A loud cry came from the room Naoko was passing, making her jump.

"I-I'm begging you...! Couldn't you at least wait until we got home?!"

"And give you time to run off with my stupid brothers?"

"No... Ayato I just-"

"Save it pancake! I'm thirsty now!"

When she looked in the window on the door, Naoko completely froze. Was that...Ayato Sakamaki? What was he doing to that girl, and why was there blood covering his lips?

'Oh, God…is he eating her?!' Naoko covered her mouth in terror and slowly backed away, feeling sick to her stomach. She didn't realize her hold on her heavy school bag had loosened until it loudly dropped to the floor. As she hastily backed away, Naoko accidentally kicked the door as she tried to run for it, clumsily trying to grab her bag. She had to tell someone about this. A teacher, the police, anyone.

"Hey! Where do you think you're going?" Naoko turned to see that Ayato had thrust the door open, and he looked absolutely livid. Blood was dripping from the corners of his mouth. "Get over here. NOW."

"Somebody help!" Naoko screamed and took off running down the school's hallway. "Anyone-" She was cut off when she slammed into another student standing at his locker. He looked down at her as though she were a cockroach. "You have to help me! I just saw Ayato Sakamaki...EATING a girl, and now he's after me!"

"And who are you?" He snarled. "What's this about Ayato?"

"I saw him EATING someone, aren't you listening?!" Naoko grabbed the boy's arm desperately. "Now he's after me, we have to call the police!" The boy made no attempt to move as he looked down at her completely unimpressed. In fact, he was suddenly holding her wrist very tightly. "W-What are you doing?"

"There you are, you little sneak!"

Naoko gasped in horror at the sight of Ayato rushing towards them. Wait...was this one of Ayato's brothers? Looking frantically between them, she saw the dark-haired boy glaring angrily, baring some very sharp-looking fangs.

"You allowed another student to see you with Miss Komori?"

"Hey! It wasn't my fault that pancake's loud when she's enjoying herself! Besides I thought everyone left already."

"She was not 'enjoying herself', she was telling you to stop and that it hurt! I'm going to the police right now! " Naoko tried to pull her wrist out of the dark-haired boy's wrist, but he didn't budge.

"Is that so? Well we can't have that." Ayato grinned. Naoko gasped when she noticed a prominent pair of fangs along his pristine white teeth. "You thinking what I'm thinking, Reiji?"

"Highly doubtful," the dark-haired boy growled, "but you are right, Ayato. You, miss, are going nowhere."

Naoko wrenched her arm in an awkward position, catching Reiji off guard and causing him to let go.

She immediately took off running down the school's hallway, never stopping to look back.

"No you don't!"

Naoko heard loud footsteps threatening to catch up to her. She was almost to the door, she just had to push it open. "What? No, no!" The door wouldn't budge. Why would the door be locked?! What was going on?! "Let me out! Please let me out!"

"Oh? I hear a human girl down the hall," a third male voice echoed. Without stopping to look for its owner, Naoko knew she had to hide. It was her only chance to hold out until her mom arrived. Thinking quickly, she ran towards a small open classroom and closed the door behind her. There was no lock, but it would have to do. Turning off the lights, the classroom went completely dark as Naoko dove under the teacher's desk, far from the door. She strained her ears to hear if her pursuers were outside.

"You let someone see you?!" Another boy shouted, presumably at Ayato.

"How was I supposed to know someone was there?! I was just getting a drink!"

"Listen, now is not the time to argue," Reiji's voice growled. "Did any of you see what room she went into?"

"No, and there are too many other scents mixed in with hers," Ayato grumbled.

'Okay, please give up, please give up...'

"Unacceptable, we cannot allow her to leave. Find her. Now." Reiji ordered his brothers. His authoritative tone made Naoko shiver.

"I locked all the exit doors, she's not going anywhere," the third voice chuckled. It was very smooth, almost seductive.

"You seriously expect us to comb through every single classroom, teachers' office, and closet?!" Ayato snapped in disbelief.

"It's too much trouble, no one is going to believe her anyway." A fifth voice lazily piped up. "Let's just forget it and go home."

"Maybe so, but I'm not taking any chances," Reiji asserted.

'Please, just go away, you cannibals!' Naoko pulled out her phone. Should she try to call her mom? No, they'd hear her talking and crying, and give herself away. And if she texted her mom, her mom would just call her, and if the phone's vibration didn't give her away, her mother's shouting would.

Maybe if she just waited until they left...

"Hm?"

Naoko held her breath when she heard the classroom door open.

"Is there someone in here?"

Naoko clamped her hand over her mouth just as the door creeped open. A tall figure in a fedora hat with shoulder-length hair stepped inside. She huddled under the teacher's desk, watching his feet from under the tiny crack.

"Yes, I smell a cute little human girl in here," he sang darkly. "Come out come out wherever you are. I can hear you breathing."

'No you can't, you're bluffing!'

"Hmm, I think I'm getting closer. Where are you~"

Naoko held her breath and did not move a muscle as his footsteps got closer and closer to her hiding spot. The girl wouldn't even look out the crack between the floor and the desk, so her stalker wouldn't feel her eyes on him. There was silence for several moments that Naoko almost thought she was safe. But then she felt a hand grab her.

"Found you." Naoko jumped as though the hand were white-hot, nearly slamming her head against the hard wood desk. A blood-curdling screech escaped her throat as blind panic began to set in, Naoko kicking and struggling desperately. "Ah, ah, ah." He purred, pulling her tightly against his chest. "You're not going anywhere my tasty little morsel." An ice-cold hand clamped itself over Naoko's mouth, smothering her screams for help. Naoko screamed even louder when her captor began nipping at her ear. "Well, aren't you a sweet little thing." The boy cooed softly as he dragged her out of the classroom.

Naoko continued screaming and thrashing in his arms until she saw herself surrounded by five other boys, Ayato and Reiji among them.

"We've got a live one, brothers!" he laughed, clearly enjoying his victim's state of terror. Naoko felt herself being thrown down to the floor. As the raven-haired girl looked up, she saw that she was surrounded by six handsome, yet deadly-looking boys. And they were looking at her like wolves with a piece of meat. The instant she hit the floor, Naoko scrambled to her feet and made a break for it.

"Uh-uh! You're not going anywhere, sweetheart!" Ayato laughed, easily grabbing her arm and pulling her back.

"That hurts let go you sick cannibal!"

The fedora-wearing boy let out a burst of laughter. "Cannibal?! Oh that's rich!"

"I'm calling the police!" She reached for her phone, only to discover it was gone. "W-what?!"

"Uh-oh, did you lose something, beautiful?"

Naoko turned her head to see her phone in the fedora-wearing boy's hand. "Give that back to me! Somebody help!"

He was laughing hysterically as he held the phone just out of her reach, watching her try and grab it. Ayato easily wrenched Naoko's arms behind her, forcing her to go still. "I don't think you'll be needing this, anymore, little doll. Do you concur, brothers?"

"W-what?! I'm not a doll!" Naoko exclaimed indignantly. "Give that back to me!" Tears we're starting to fall from Naoko's eyes. She gasped sharply when the sleek black phone began to crack in the boy's hands. "No, no, no...!"

"Hey! Subaru! Catch!" The fedora-wearing teen laughed as he tossed the phone to the silver-haired brother. Naoko watched as the boy she recognized from her class effortlessly snatched her cracked phone out of the air.

"Please...give it back!"

"Shut up!" Subaru snapped, sending a chill down Naoko's spine. With an irritated look on his face he dropped the phone to the floor and stomped on it. He did it so easily...Ayato painfully pulled Naoko's arms even further behind her back, reinforcing just how much trouble she was in. "The police can't help you now," he snickered.

"Let me go right now, and MAYBE I won't call the police!" Naoko shouted through her tears.

"Yeah? And how are you going to call them with no phone, melons?" Ayato snickered, clearly having the time of his life.

"My...mom told me to wait at a cafe! She'll know if I don't show up, so you have to let me go!"

"So sweet, you think mommy's going to save you?" The boy holding the teddy bear smirked.

"She'll report me missing-"

"Oh shut up will you?" Subaru growled. "Let's just get this over with and kill her already."

"And risk drawing unnecessary attention to our family? We are NOT killing her, at least not while on the school grounds." Reiji declared, glaring at Subaru. "We will take her back to the mansion and discuss what to do next."

"Ooh, looks like you're coming home with us, little doll," the boy in the fedora cooed as though he were talking to a kitten. Naoko's blood turned ice-cold as the words sunk in; she was about to be kidnapped.

"No, you can't do this!"

"Shut up, stupid mortal! You're hurting Teddy's ears!"

"No! Let me go - mmph!" Naoko was cut off, her eyes growing wide when she felt a gag being tied around her mouth. Naoko felt herself being forced onto her knees and something rough being tied around her wrists.

"A-Ayato what are you doing?!" A timid, shy feminine voice questioned. "Why are you tying up that girl?!"

"Because you wouldn't keep your mouth shut and submit quietly, pancake!"

Naoko's eyes widened as she saw the girl alive and on her feet. There was still some blood on her neck, but otherwise she appeared to be unharmed. She tried to run to the girl's aid, but the blonde boy lazily grabbed her arm. "No! Shu, let go!"

"There we go, all wrapped up," Ayato purred in Naoko's ear. "Now, let's get you home, melons." He grinned as he swung her over her shoulder. Naoko thrashed wildly, fight-or-flight kicking into full gear. Ayato nearly lost his balance, unprepared for such a struggle. "Damn it, hold still!"

"Ayato, let her go! You can't just kidnap another student from school-" The blonde girl pleaded.

Ayato suddenly slammed Naoko against the wall, knocking the wind from the girl's lungs. The boy holding a teddy bear sauntered up to the stunned girl, glaring icily. "Looks like Ayato needs some help, Teddy."

Naoko kicked at the purple-haired boy to try and make a break for it, not caring that she was still bound tightly. But she didn't get far before she lost her balance and fell to the floor, dragged back by her ankle. "Stupid mortal! No one kicks at Teddy!" The purple-haired boy looked absolutely livid. Naoko didn't even have time to turn around before her world went dark as the boy's fist connected with her temple.

This first chapter was partially inspired by a Diabolik Lovers fic I read on another site, though I sadly can't remember the title or the author. Once again, thanks to PrismRain13 for helping me get this story off the ground, I'm excited to get my feet wet in the Diabolik Lovers fandom! Don't forget to review on your way out!
