A/N: For the Monthly Poetry Flood, the prompt being the theme: hope.

Also this is a kind of a companion piece to one of my other stories (the first chapter of little windows) so if you wanna read that too, go right ahead.

a four letter word: 166 words

Hope is a four letter word.
And that one syllable can either
Break you
Or
Build you up.

It all depends on your actions.
And in Draco's case,
His actions were wrong.
No matter what angle you try to look at it from.

His friends think he's a murderer.
The death eaters think he's a wimp.

No one is ever going to trust him again.

You'd think that, if you were in his shoes,
This would break you.

You thought wrong.

It's only made him stronger.
He knows what he wants now.
Never to be trusted again.
Or at least that's what he's hoping.
And even if he didn't want this,
The only people that could have overlooked the incident
Are dead.

No one is going to put their faith, their trust in him anymore.
There isn't anything he can do to fix it.

And he hopes, he wishes, he wants it to stay that way.
