ABOMINATION

I don't look at the water in the sewer,
In it's reflection I see my head.
I see my body, a dark shade of green,
And my eyes, they're a sinister red.
When people see me they run in fear,
I'd do the same in their situation,
For I would have come to be face to face
With the creature called Abomination.

Emil Blosky, a name long forgotten,
Locked in the vaults of my mind.
He was affected by radiation,
And had to leave his life behind.
He often battled The Hulk,
Who just would not leave him be,
How do I know so much of this man?
Well, Emil Blonsky was me.

The Hulk got enhanced strength,
From those fateful gamma rays,
Those rays transformed me as well,
Transformed in several different ways.
I also had colossal power,
But also remained just as clever,
But unlike The Hulk, however,
I'm stuck in this body forever.

In battle, we were evenly matched,
About as equal as rivals could get,
I know this because there was conflict
Practically every time we met.
All because he wished to be a hero
I, not into that scene, turned to crime,
And despite being supposedly equal,
He defeated me every time.

Eventually, depression set in,
I was a monster, a hulking brute,
But then I had an idea,
It was a long shot. I decided to shoot.
I would go where the outcasts went,
Down with the poor
And the homeless, in exile,
Down, in the depths of the sewer.

The place was a haven,
No longer was I feared,
A soft spot grew in my heart,
And there it was permanently seared.
At last, I felt human again,
A feeling I'd lost far back in the past,
I was happy to stay there for the rest of my life,
I should have known that it would not last.

The police came after me,
Calling me "monster" and "it",
They were the monsters,
They were so full of shit!
They murdered the homeless,
They didn't even care,
They'd awoken my dark side,
I'd give them a scare.

I slaughtered them all,
Each and every last one,
I became their "monster"
They had nowhere to run.
I thought of the innocent,
Lying dead in the grime,
Then looked at those bastards,
They'd paid for their crime!

I wanted to live peacefully,
They wouldn't have that,
So they sent The Hulk
To hunt me down like a rat.
Another battle,
Another loss,
I'd reaped vengeance for my friends,
However, at what cost?

I envy you people,
With your house, kids and wife,
No matter how "bad" you've got it,
It's better than my life.
Are you still not convinced?
Do you want power like mine?
If it was possible,
I would trade any time.

I don't look at the water in the sewer,
In it's reflection I see my head,
I see my body, a dark shade of green,
And my eyes, they're a sinister red.
When people see me they run in fear,
I'd do the same in their situation,
For I would have come to be face to face
With the creature called Abomination.
