Kamera glanced up from her book, turning her head to face Cloud, who had begun to shift in his sleep. She peered out from under her book, up at the bright sunlight threatening to blind her if she dared to ignore it. She squinted into it before replacing her book as a shield; she began to read again, comfortable amongst the flowers, and mere inches from Cloud. If she weren't afraid he'd wake up, she'd close those inches like a puppy snuggling to its master, but she knew he'd wake up all because she hadn't wanted him to. The further she got into the book, the less she understood, she pondered the reason Genesis was so obsessed with it, for her birthday, like he had done for everyone else—besides Sephiroth, because his life was threatened—he gave her Loveless. Unlike the rest, who were prepared for a mini-bonfire, she actually took the time to read it.
He is guided by hope that the gift will bring bliss,
And the oath that he swore to his friends.
She smiled to herself; it was a beautiful piece no doubt though she wasn't sure she could become so addicted. Slowly she realized, as she read on, that the vision she had of the 'prisoner' was indeed the one who lay asleep beside her, and that the goddess had embodied Aeris. She wondered if she were the only one to make the connection, she smiled wider, it was all just a silly poem, and she was turning into Genesis all this interpreting. She shut the book, such a magnificent cover for something so small. Slowly her eyes slid shut as the warmth from the sun overtook her senses. Maybe Cloud had it right, she felt, a nap was much needed.
Though no oath is shared between the lovers
In their hearts they know they will meet again
"You know, I love your smile," Cloud mumbled, hearing her silent wishes and closing the distance between them. She curled into his arms and grinned up at him.
"I'd say the same, but I don't recall you ever smiling," Cloud glanced at her, before letting a small grin snake across his face.
