As the sun was setting beyond Sunny Island, Vaughn couldn't help but love the brilliant colors that were before him. From light shades of yellow to dark shades of blue – it seemed like nothing could be more beautiful. The scenery made him think of simpler times, when he didn't have the burdens of an adult life.
Without realizing it, he smiled.
"Vaughn."
He held his breath when he heard her sweet voice say his name. He looked to his left to see her beaming a smile at him.
"What?" He looked down at the ground.
She laughed, and knelt down to pet the farm animals.
"You have a wonderful smile!"
Vaughn lifted his head up so he could see her slender figure. "I was…smiling?"
She stood and looked at him, which made him blush a little.
"Yes! You should smile more often; it makes you look twice as handsome!"
She said it innocently, and Vaughn couldn't understand how she made it sound like it was nothing.
Even so, hearing her say that made him blush even more.
"…hm," he mumbled.
She giggled, and smiled at him once more before turning away from him to feed the rest of the animals at her feet.
And as he looked away from the sunset to the woman who was kneeling down while humming a small tune, he wondered if there was anything as beautiful as her. Her eyes were as deep a blue as the ocean itself, while her hair was as bright as the sun.
But her smile made the sunset seem like nothing.
No, he thought, she was the most beautiful thing.
And without realizing it, he smiled as he watched her. Someday he knows he'll find the words to tell her himself.
