Summer After Year 4
Day 1
Harry had just gotten home from the long ride from Kings Cross Station to 4 Privet Drive. He was miserable, Hogwarts is real "home" and he already missed Ron and Hermione. But all of his thoughts were shoved out of his head, as he pulled up to the driveway.
"Get out you ruddy boy. Take your trunk with you. I'll deal with it when we get inside. You to directly to go and s ee your aunt. She's in the kitchen making dudley a cake. Poor boy they've starved him on a diet all year at school. Now GO!" Uncle Vernon barked. Harry slowly got out of the car. Another summer of the Dursleys and no Hogwarts. How was he to live? As he dragged his trunk up to the house he dicided that he would write to Sirius. After all what had happened last year, he was still scared. And he didn't like being left alone with all of these muggles! This was it. His last moment of freedom, before he entered the house. The house in which he was beaten up, starved, put down and well you get the picture. But this year was going to be different. There was no way that Dudley the fat was going to pick on him. Harry looked back and saw Uncle Vernon advancing on him. So he quickly opened the door and hauled his trunk inside. He left it by the door so that his unlce could "deal" with it. Which ment locking it up in the cupboard under the stairs. What he didn't realize, was that as soon as they went out. Harry would pick the lock and get his stuff out. He smelt a cake baking and walked into the kitchen to where Aunt Petunia was standing waiting for him. She was wearing a hideous yellow sun dress that made her more horseish that ever. He looked and saw that she had a piece of paper in her hand.
"Get over here." she snapped. "Now, your Uncle and I are going to be very busy taking care of all of Dudleys needs. So here is a list of chores for you to do this summer. And they'd better get done too, you filfy orphan." she siad the last part quite meanly but Harry was used to that. So, he took the list from Aunt Petunia, and looked over it quickly. He really didn't want to do these chores. He figured that he'd tell Sirius about it and send the list along too. He didn't think that would make him very happy for their were loads of chores on the list. And plus then he wouldn't have to do them. But then he couldn't let Aunt Petunia know this so he just answered.
"I'll do them Aunt Petunia." in a not such a nice way, but he didn't care. He was better than all of them. And this thinking was going to get him through the summer. He figured that he wouldn't get anything else out of Petunia, so he ran up the stairs. Into his bedroom and slammed the door. Harry could faintly hear Uncle Vernon yelling at him not to slam the door. He paid no attention and immideatly started a letter to Sirius. Using a spare piece of parchment he had in his pocket.
Dear Sirius,
I've only just gotten home and they've given me a whole summer's worth of chores! Who do they think I am, a superhero? Wait, I take that back! But any how please write back, or I might not survive the summer. Sooo, How are you?? Hope your okay. I am for, right now, but I hate being with these damn muggles. It scares me, because there's no on ehere to watch over me. There's no you, Dumbledore, Professor Lupin, or the Weasleys. Just make sure you don't tell anybody that, because it would be very very very embarrasing. Harry Potter is not supposed to be scared. He's supposed to be the brave one that will save us all, he's not supposed to show any emotion at all for that matter. Do you have any idea of where Pro. Lupin is? I was going to write to him, but I only have one owl so I couldn't really send it to both of you at the same time now could I? My hands are getting tired so I'll go now. Bye.
